Any one have views?
Yes, I have a view that the Daily Express and its commentators are speaking out of their collective backsides again.
They could pick any city or small village at random, speak to the Job Centre and find plenty of vacancies, anywhere - to then extrapolate that to a policy where every job seeker on benefits should be forced to accept one of those jobs is clearly ludicrous as illustrated by the Daily Express in that verya rticle where they claim that electricians, driving instructors and a deputy head of a school are some of the well paid vacancies on offer.
Quite what your average 18 year odl job seeker is going to do when he/she gets placed into those jobs is one thing that the fookwits in the articles don't whine about.
You can have 10000 job seekers and 10000 job vacancies but you can't force employers to employ people without the qualifications or aptitude to do the job anymore than you can force an 18 year old into an electricians job, although an apprenticeship scheme (
at apprenticeships) would be a good start.
