F*"&^(£ W%&*%"!*& bankers : Thu Dec 13, 2012 1:10 pm
I am amazed at how the bankers seem to be doing their best to scupper any financial recovery and to profiteer from the financial crisis they created.I have two credit cards and owe approx £3500. I have about £7000 of unused credit on these two accounts which i have no intention of using.
Apparently many credit card companies are putting up their interest rates to get extra money. Martyn Lewis feels that this is a scam by the credit card companies.
My interest rates have gone up from 16.9% on one card to 21.9% and from 16.9% to 25.9% on the other. Apparently they wanted to do this quite a while ago but were forced into reviewing it by the OFT who said they had to give customers the opportunity to close their accounts and pay the balance off at the old rate.
I have done this with both cards but cannot believe that they can get away with doing this and profiteering at a time when the financial markets are swimming with low interest money.
It seems the banks are screwing us for extra money to bump up their bonuses to pay for the losses they suffered through their own poor buisnes practice.
