Let's see ... Prior to the election, (similar to Labour) he took the view that the Tories would be cutting too far, too soon. After the election and having been offered the deputy PM job and after a little 20 minute chat with Mervyn King (who hadn't seen anything coming in the banking area), he had a Damascene conversion to the Tory view. Now he's having second (or should that be third?) thoughts. If only he had looked at The Sin Bin occasionally, he'd have realised that cutting too harshly would dent GDP badly. |
