Out Of Touch Politicians : Tue Sep 23, 2014 11:20 am
So we have Tory ministers like George osborne not knowing the price of a pint of milk.

Now we have shadow work & pensions secretary Rachel Reeves who doesn't not know what the basic state pension payment is. Cringeworthy stuff on LBC.

Milibands speech today is almost an irrelevance. He's a dead man walking & the terrible performances from Tristram Hunt, Reeves & Balls in interviews in the last day or so leave Labour with an impossible task to win next May.

Farage & UKIP mus be revelling in seeing the mess they can cash in on.

I don't know the price of a pint of milk. I bet half the country don't as the cost varies between aggressive retailers so much these days. Throw in the discounts for buying 4 and 6 pinters which most people purchase and it's hard to put an exact price on 'a pint of milk'.

Going back to the initial post, I feel UKIP will be prominent again in 2015. I don't think this year was a flash in the pan. Too many people are fed up with the Conservative vs Labour pi$$ing contest and will again be happy to vote UKIP than not at all, whether it be a protest vote or a genuine vote.

I would know neither.

Caroline Flint being absolutely cut to pieces by Andrew Neil on Daily Politics. Mansion tax is apparently England only, and she walked right into West Lothian trap....

Do you mean own-brand? Cravendale? Yeo Valley? Graham's Gold? UHT?

Certainly not saying politicians are 'in touch', but I haven't a clue what the price of a pint of milk is.

Simply click 4 pints blue top and it goes in the basket for delivery. Even in the shop I don't check the price.

I know exactly how much 75cl of wine is though, and how it compares to a 3L box.

UKIP have gone quiet in recent months, though if they've any decent campaign people they'll capitalise on the farcical Tory/Lib Dem/Labour circus. Doubt they'll win many seats but votes will certainly go their way.

I know of absolutely no one who even looks at the price of a pint of milk when they go shopping, especially in supermarkets. If they need milk, the only decision they make is whether to buy a 2 or 4 pint carton.

As for UPRIK: apart from the possibility of the Carswell-default seat in Clacton, I still cannot see where they'll actually WIN a seat in May 2015. A cursory glance at policies other than "get out of Europe" and "stop immigration", should be enough for even the near brain-dead to avoid them. Farage's latest "policy" to scrap inheritance tax will really appeal to the "man in the street".

Farage, a public-school educated, ex-stockbroker is hardly a "man of the people". He and his MEP cronies are happy to pocket £200k+ from Europe and do next to buggerall in return. Where they have council seats, there doesn't seem to be too much action there either.

The SNP may as well field candidates south of the border, after all, they are now the 3rd largest party (by membership numbers) in the UK

Not only milk, but Cameron got a kicking over a loaf of bread.

Hilary Benn desperately trying to equate TfL to West Lothian. They really are driving themselves very quickly towards a big defeat.

For now UKIP can just sit back & watch the others beat each other up. Cameron is dominating the Labour conference by making just the one announcement over English votes on English laws.

I get the impression that Labour will be the gift that just keeps on giving over the next few months. The Tories & UKIP will have them in a position where no matter what they say, it will be turned.

I know how much I pay for a pint of milk and I know how much everything I shop for costs..

Is that a strange thing to know?
