Just watching the highlights as I thought it would be interesting to see how much Salty was to blame as I saw him getting stick on FB as well.

Wakey first try and I honestly have no idea what sort of defensive system has the centre and winger hold back like Barber and Salty did for this try. Once Wakey move it though Barber does not trust his inside man and its a really nice ball from Wakey to set up the try. Hard to blame Salty for this one but have to question that defensive system.

Wakey second try is really well worked but again Barber gets the slide wrong and Wakey execute well. Salty in two minds and ends up doing neither of his options. I think Salty has to pick an option but again Barber and the rest of the inside defense takes most of the blame.

Wakey 3rd try is awful with Barber and Keyes getting the numbers wrong. I mean most teams are not going to execute that 3 on 2 as well as Wakefield but still its really soft. Keys and Barber have to number up better there. Again hard to blame Salty.

Wakey 5th try again is great by Wakefield how they picked us apart but once again we see that weird defensive system with the Winger and this time Keyes holding. I really don't know if thats just lazy defense or the system. Have to presume system as its happened on more than one occasion. Inside defence gets it all wrong and Salty has no chance although the pass is a mile forward.

Wakey 6th try bad read by Barber again as he bites in on the wrong man who Keyes already has that kind of forces Salty's hand but the ball from Jowett is fantastic he can only pick that pass if he senses our winger is going to be shooting in and that is how most teams play. It's a class pass but once again the problem starts inside but its Salty who on a live watch appears to get it wrong. Replay says not though.

Wakey 7th try is really abysmal defence. Barber really does not trust Keyes in defence does he as he once again does not allow Keyes a chance to do his job and takes the wrong man.I think if Barber holds here that would allow Salty to hold as well and we have the numbers sorted. I'm not sure what Salty is doing in the end up so he can take some of the blame for this one but this is mainly on Barber again for me.

I didn't realise that every try bar 2 came down that side but its clear to see from that the system that we are playing is not working and Barber has had a mare, he is certainly more to blame than Salty who at a push I think can share some of the blame for two of the tries at a push. I always makes for an interesting watch when a winger gets stranded like Salty has done here and we had the same with Walmsley a bit last season as he got quite a bit unjust blame in similar situations. 9/10 though with things like that the problem often startes with the inside defense.

That forward pass for the 5th try was ridiculously forward, unbelievable it wasn't picked up. However we did get one back which was almost as outrageous. What do linesmen do these days? All in all not a bad effort from the lads yesterday.

I’l bow to your greater knowledge...but naively to me in general terms it should be winger on winger and if a try is scored inside that it someone else’s fault.Saltonstall trying to cover up other deficiencies only made it much worse..

Sorry wasn't having a go, just thought it would be worth having a nosey on the replays as it had been mentioned a lot on FB as well and call me boring but I like watching replays of teams structures. :D As you say as soon as other mistakes were made its always the winger that ends up looking stupid and shouldering the blame from the fans. I would be surprised if Finn calls out Salty for more than one of those tries when they do a video review though. Ive no doubt questions will be asked of Barbers defense though.

I agree with most of above. Salty had no chance, not sure Barber was at fault for most other than the one he shot out of the line way too early. Our inner defence seems to push up but doesn't drift and we keep getting caught on numbers.

Finn won't be looking at any one player but everyone in the team will be involved including himself and the systems used which he did change in the second half, the bigger worry is with one of the worst defensive stats in the division it's not exactly the first time it's happened or just down the right edge.

In this particular game Wakey had obviously worked on this line of attack and some of the try's were just down to speed of execution and finishing ability.
