On behalf of the Players and all of us at the Club can I say a really big thank you to everyone who came to watch us tonight, especially those in blue and white .and to all of you who shouted yourselves hoarse

the players couldnt stop talking about that great support which kept them going in that second half . . . definately as good as an extra player

sorry we didnt quite do it for you this time, all but we'll be restarting our league and northern rail cup quest again on sunday. .hopefully you'll be there giving us the same great support

thanks again to you all. . . you were magnificent
Mike

The Club - that players, Coaching staff, Backroom people, The Board and those working elsewhere like Mal and Jenna etc should be proud of what has been achieved in such a short space of time. It was only a couple of years ago we were on the verge of the club going. But now we are slightly disappointed losing away to a strong SL club!

The efforts of MH and MC to assemble a strong squad on a small budget is amazing. Its often not how much you have to spend but what the team will do for each other. That takes hard work and that hard work by the Coaching Staff and the players shines through. Lets push on and look to hammer the next team we play and take our anger and disappointment out on them. Lets aim to make The Shay a fortress where the atmosphere and noise is deafening. The Fans now need to get even more behind the club and try and help the Club bring more money in that will help us push on both this season and the future. The fans and the club must stay united no matter where we go from here.

I had about several heart attacks listen to the Net and my neighbours must think I am insane dancing around the room and shouting when we had scored late on to go ahead! Proud of the club and the players

Some of my previous visits to Wheldon Road, particularly standing in The Shed, didn't leave me with a great impression re Cas fans to be honest. But yesterday's visit did seem different ... the smattering of Cas fans in the open end during the first half were moany but non-aggressive, and there were several complimentary comments leaving the ground after the match (but would things have been different had WE won the match? ). All in all one of my better experiences in Cas, so yeah .... I WILL be watching your results, and I'll certainly be shouting for yer against the scouse and pies! :)

Yep, if the RFL think RL is "expanding" by having ONE team in France, ONE team in Wales, ONE team in Scotland and ONE team in London giving it a national, even an international, flavour is totally absurd. For TRUE expansion you surely have to be looking at several teams in the aforementioned regions, otherwise it's a dead duck penalising those clubs who have an established fan base who are trying their best to get in. I mean ..... if England had one club, say based in Manchester, which was a member of the Scottish Caber Tossing Premier League, do you really think the entire country of England would all of a sudden be interested in caber tossing. Never mind England ... Manchester even? I don't think so!

Also they should be expanding up in Cumbria where it`s traditioally played rather than try and break into Wales .It`s never going to work down there like it didn`t work in Paris. If they did`nt keep wasting money on stuff like that there may be a bit more money in the pot for traditional clubs.

Franchising has the potential to work. But it has to be done based on teh most sucessful teams and based on those teams playing by the same rules.

Catalans for examlple did fantastic last year. I beg the answer to one question though. How many over seas recruits did they have? As did Celtic last year in teh national leagues. Again how many oversease etc players did they have?

The franchising system is supposed todevelope yound talent rather than encouraging short term fixes on overseas players. In the case of the Welsh how many welshmen are there in that squad let alone team.

When cas came up two yeers ago yes were were sh*t but we played youngsters with a view to bringing them on this year into the full team. Mission achieved .Celtic are on no points and dont even play young welshmen. Is the franchising really working.

Would there have been so much debate if say Widnes had gotin. Probably not.

We dont need expansion in the game. We need a stable base of core clubs who can opertae at a high level on an equal playing field. Celtic and to an extent Catalans with their foreign legion does not offer us this. In ten years time Celtic will possibly be doing a london and being bank rolled by the RFL, there may be a welshman of qualty playing in SL but what of the grass route clubs who are meant to develope future stars. Probably bankrupt or struggling financially.

Let's face it, the franchise system is a load of garbage. Promotion and relegation is a healthy part of the sport ... even soccer wouldn't want it any other way, even to stop the West Broms and Derbys "trespassing" their beloved league. If I remember rightly a crucial relegation battle between Wakey and Cas attracted 10,000 some seasons ago. We'll see what this end of season wooden spoon clashes attract. Need I say more?

Had to smile years ago when our club went across to play Paris ,then we were all expected to buy the ticket for the game before you traveled across.Well a friend of mine decided to go for the day at the last minute flying over. They of course joined a q for the tickets to find it was of course full of Parisians. They were still there nearly to kick off and no-one was leting them in.He was just about to complain when low and behold the gates opened up and the locals and him walked in free.Is this expansion I think not that man went home and away to watch Fax but he was put off by the things the RFL do and stoped attending games as he became disalusioned. But guess what he was at our last home game.

I saw a few Halifax Town fans at the game last night, who I've never seen at a Fax game before.

The travelling support was amazing. I'm still buzzing this morning and Shaunna is still having trouble talking  BLISS!!

I still can't talk . . . only through these forums!

Yes, there was a lot of newbies to rugby league at the game last night . . . I for one took two new people! Hopefully they'll all come back again to the Sheffield game! We need to make this just as attractive by getting the numbers in and getting some quality entertainment on!
