Do you think the RFL should employ someone full time to check on mistakes like this by incompetent buffoons at the clubs. We all know the RFL have their faults and plenty of them, but this is a club issue. admittedly the RFL should have been aware of this without having to get the news from a fans forum !!

The resignation of Clay and Posner may have been something to do with this but surely it would have been made public much earlier.

They are obviously washing their hands of it which seems a shame as they have helped turn the club around, but are maybe taking the blame for the real fools here which I believe are Hall, Calland and Ostick.

Blame the coach & player simple as & pretty stupid this is a semi proffesional rugby club not under 7's sorry to the Fax fans that have to endure this though

Most people arent blaming the RFL for the club playing the player - where the RFL fall down is not finding out about this and taking action sooner rather than 3 hours before a game, after finding out via a fans message board.

To all the trolls...

I dont think I have read a post from a halifax fan that blames the RFL for OUR cock up; on the contrary, we have lambasted our own club left right and centre, and rightly so. Calling for the head of thoose accountable, rightly so. Black cat said so himself. Fax should be expelled from the CCup for this oversight/cheating, which ever it is.

However, also to the trolls absolving the rfl of any blame...

It is their fault that the game was cancelled at 12pm. What sort of a system is it that situations like this only get back to them, evidently, due to a thread raised on THIS forum. Do their operation systems not include any sort of algorythms to detect duplications such as these? It is a sad indicement that the only detection policy is word of mouth...would this have ever been picked up had a Halifax fan not raised it (and a widnes fan 'grassed')...probably not until the rothmans yearbook was penned.

This should have been detected sooner. They cannot have draconian punishments in place when their own policy of detection is such a disgrace.

Halifax are to blame for Ostick playing, and should be thrown out.

RFL are to blame for the game being postponed at a ridiculously late hour, meaning the guy from the north east, the guy from romford, and my sister from southampton, had wasted journies at great expense.

Exactly pbw... the whole episode stinks of numpties steering the ship into a series of rocks. Its too late now, we have to try and rebuild yet a F* gain, things were looking sooo promising, but it flattered to decieve, you cant have such incompetence and idiot behaviour at the heart of a club. Its not rocket science "Hello mate, we fancy giving you a run out in the CC, are you cup tied?" one conversation is all it took. But when you cant string a sentence together I guess it proves a little tricky :S
