I watched Greetland play up at Stainland versus Stags & district. I counted five conference players in the Stags 17 tonight that i doubt will play for them on saturday, neither did they play for them last saturday either. 24-8 no disgrace & son No.1 had a stormer despite being ill.
I feel the game is rotten to the core, from top to bottom as people will have probably noted in previous posts by myself, but how amateur players can be registered with two clubs under the same governing body at the same time is beyond comprehension. A result of the overlap of winter/summer RL and fiddling the figures by the hierachy. As I've said many times before, if it wasn't for my two sons playing and enjoying their rugby league I'd be one of the lost supporters of the game.
when they allow pro players to be registered by two differant clubs ( swinton & warrington) under the same ruling body, do you think the amateur game knows how to make a rule?
just watched corrie so will never ever believe what you say again.
I watched it this morning, so I would know what was going on before tonight, just watching Emmerdale. Went to watch Irish, enjoyed it, Not sure about this Saturday haven't checked the fixtures. But off to Boys of 87, Saturday night, will have to tape Britain's got talent, and then Sunday pre match meal and then mincemeat of Barra. Isn't life brilliant.

Another loss for the Greetland side, this time at home to Silsden after going behind something like 16 nil the home side nosed in front 26-22 but ended up losing something like 36-26 I think. Played without the ball for long periods due to conceding too many penalties. Nice m.o.m. from son No.1 and a pair of tries.

Colin, son no. 1 must have quite a few man of the matches this season, well done to him. I' m glad I'm not feeding him tho' Son no. 2 didn't play on Wednesday, injured I was told, hope he's ok. KCP were a good few points up at half time playing up hill, so when they scored themfirst try in the second half playing down hill that seemed to be it. Wrong 5 tries without the ball hardly touching a Park hand and they ended up losing by a few.
You said a few week ago that you were going to a pub in Featherstone tomorrow, and maybe RFF and Fevgrinder might be there. What was the pub called? We are going by charabang so if they will let us out of our compound I will try and meet you there.

Yes mate, Son No.1 is playing extremely well this year. Son No.2 played weds aft in the college game but only until HT. He's struggling at the moment with a niggle of an injury though but i'm sure the soft sod will be OK. If you need my No. I understand RFF has yours, so just get in touch with him. The pub is called Featherstone hotel, nicknamed Top house. About 6 or 7 mins walk from the stadium, they do decent food & allow kids in if you're taking the tribe.
Well done Irish, today's winners of the Halifax ARL - Joseph Fee Memorial Trophy. Brighouse Rangers 6 up at half time, finally out played and out muscled. A good crowd at an excellent Old Brods venue. What a shame there is no Rugby League ground to rival a few Union grounds. Well done "little Dave Smith" a storming display and a superb try, nice to see Richard Mudd flatten someone, again, and a special mention to Arnie, (I questioned his selection early season, KCP sub to Irish first team) but I was wrong. First half took some stick from Rangers Gobsh*te supporters "target No 14 was the cry" second half, should have had a long range try, was he really in touch? and another few good runs. An ever green performance from Andy Brocklehurst, as a Super League player he was fearsome but his dad frightens me more. A great game played in a very good spirit, well done to all on both sides. Great to see Pete Emmetts sponsorship on the Irish trackies
Colin is a handful. Yes was a great day, all credit to Brighouse they stuck at it and should hold their heads up high. Was great to see both teams on the lash together in town last night, there will be some sore heads today, I know mine is
As i'm the dessy-driver for son No.2 & two of the other lads from the Halifax U20's England students squad first training session at Trent Uni in Nottingham tomorrow i'll miss playing in the Greetland All-Rounders U30's vs over 30's invitational game which is a big shame after what i've watched this season, I fancied knocking one or two of them on their a$$es with a bit of the old "drop of the shoulder & slip the ball out of the tackle" which was my stock trade of years gone by, especially gonna miss putting some late footwork & see ya laters to one of our fellow messageboard posters ( Greetland8 all the pies ) after studying his flat footed defence all season, hands-on-hips & blowing out of the ar$e a familiar stance, I sort of had my plan in place for tomorrows big clash. Have a good blow out lads, you'll have to wait another year to see me in the black & whites again
Anyone got any local RL goss ? I hear the Elland v Ovvy derby was a bit spicy last week as expected.
