3ex Leythers in your Squad ,Larroyer ,Mason,and Ashworth , should be a bit of added spice there .

I was thinking the same thing, not seen much of ashworth n mason , what’s your opinion on them ?

They are both solid lads , in fact one Leigh fan I know was mentioning bringing in Ashworth and Butler to Leigh this season , when it was mentioned we had a shortage of props , as for Mason , he’s a big lad , ok when things are going good, had a couple of injuries and then seem to lose interest .I don’t think they will let you down though .Ashworth isn’t spectacular but he’s more of a workhorse , which all sides need , we have Ioane in our team .

Sounds like they suit grixs’ style , he seems to like the workmanlike percentage forwards, im interested to see how gwaze goes against sidlow etc , he’s a small dynamic prop but has relentless stamina, I think Grix had his fingers burnt by the springer style forward but certainly some great battles to be had .

Pete ,I know how you feel about DRs , but Ashworth is a very good defensive player ,and Mason has some size , maybe Grix feels they can add to the squad in some way , if it benefits Fax , it doesn’t matter where they come from , when a player puts Ona Leigh shirt he’s aLeigh player for me , I’m. Not bothered where he. Comes from .

Leigh by 20 or more. Tight 1st half with Fax spoiling tactics then Leigh will run away with it 2nd half due to very strong bench and fitness.

Well I think sending Elliott Moriss to play for shuddersfield reserves and bringing in two unknown players from the giants is sheer lunacy. To me it undoes all the relatively good work from the last two displays against Fev and halts any momentum we were building. I can't now see us getting owt from tonight's game and go for Leigh by 2/3 scores. I hope i'm wrong. Up The Fax!

I wouldn’t call Ashworth and Mason unknown players , they are steady SL experienced players ,they do well for Fax .

Pete you are predicting defeat before a ball has been kicked , look what happened to Saints at the weekend , I never take anything for granted , hopefully we will be up for this game .

They are unknown to me Ian. There's a reason they are shuddersfield reserves. But it's about more than the two players and Morris isn't it? I don't need to go over the whole DR thing again though. I very rarely predict a Fax defeat but can't see owt else tonight now.

Elliot Morris is a good quality championship player on his day however he has been out performed by both gwaze and Dan Murray. I don’t have a problem with the mixed reserves as it keeps the players match fit , we’ve all commented how our pack needs an upgrade especially with the injuries and in an ideal world we would be signing these kinds of players or at least signing them on loan for the full season but you can only play the cards that you’ve been dealt and if it opens the door for the likes of ashworth, mason , roberts , Hewitt etc for the future that can only be a positive. Personally I’m looking forward to see how fax perform against a top end team with more firepower in the pack .

Agree with Listenup regards the DR players. they are upgrades on what we have and we will need some muscle up front to compete with Leigh so ive no problem with us bringing players in. It still don't mean I like DR though.This should be a real good test for us to see where we are at and will be the first time we have played on the pitch in a decent state. Ive a funny feeling that we just edge this one.

Pete I know your opinion on DR and I respect it fully , a few years ago when it first started we did it with Warrington and received Blythe, Mitchell, and McCarthey , I was happy and have been since , James Bell is a very good ball player , ski hoping he benefits our team , but we have Hingano as second hooker , and Ipape as 3rd hooker , this guy is very quick , I expecting a very fast open game , but that sometimes doesn’t happen , Leigh were very scrappy against Newcastle ,and last week wasn’t what was expected , so I’m just hopeful.

Myself I’m feeling good , Pat doesn’t want me going to awaygames yet , but I’m getting better , hope to see ya sometime during the season,give my estwishes to Di.

It says in league express that woody isn't ready to play yet but simon says in is interview that he could play so we will have to wait and see on that one. As for the 2 lads on dr i am hoping they can bring a bit of size and power that we lack up front and i think we should be a stronger all round side for that extra beef as long as they know how to use it.

Just watched Grix's interview and its not exactly filling me with confidence. Its a home game against one of the best teams in the competition but it sounds like we should just be happy to turn up against them.

Just seen our squad , a quality first 13 and a quality bench , should be a great game , I’m going for Leigh by 12 , but Leigh win by anything will do me .

Well that wasn't great, some very, very sloppy defence on show for some of the tries. Leigh's players just far too big for us and its hard to compete against that. Like I mentioned before after watching Grix's interview I can only hope he managed to get the players more up for the game than I felt after watching that. At this point it feels like we have nothing to play for and I had hoped we would be closer to the top teams this year but it does not look like that is the case and for that reason I will probably pick and choose games going forward.

Struggling to understand some of the negativity on here and on Facebook. Grix has got them playing good rugby, but Leigh had bigger, stronger, faster players, and that takes a toll the longer the game goes on. They didn't let their heads drop - the majority of the teams in our league would have been completely steamrollered by that Leigh team. Really good to see JWH back and he showed glimpses of what he can add to the team. Gwaze did what he's done every game, run and tackle hard, and thought Calcott stood up well, including a couple of good offloads. We went into this season hoping to be the 3rd best team after Fev and Leigh - I've seen enough in the last 3 games to believe that's still feasible - I'd be more worried if I was Fev - they invested / gambled massively on getting promoted this year - purely on the evidence of our last games I'd rate leigh the stronger team - especially if they keep Mcdonald fit as he's unplayable at this level.

Totally agree , it’s not all doom and gloom for Fax , they didn’t drop their heads , played till the end , and were beaten by a bigger faster side , who are full time .

Some Fax players did well , and if Fax can win a few in the coming months you can make a play for 3rd or 4th spot , it seems a few teams can beat each other and is only a quarter of the season gone .

I’m not worried about Fev , we have another big name due to be announced as a signing soon ,and our subs bench was very good tonight , Bell was good as was Ioane , but Nene is a monster , hopefully we can keep him all season , with Inu outside him they will be very good .

For Fax you will be ok , keep playing .ike that and the wins will come .

Player after player constantly driving the ball in making big yards going forward and moving the ball around with skill and pace.

Fax tried and no one had a bad game just not good enough on the night simple as that.

Good to see Woody get his first run out for a few months and especially good to see Brad Knowles up and walking again.

Watched the game with an interrupted stream; The errors and penalties ultimately play a role but I'd say many the result of the inability to contain Leigh. For us, we need to be winning at least 8 of the next 10. The DRs offered not much in fairness but I imagine Kavanagh, Fairbank and Larroyer will be back in for Worky. Tangata is not the same player as a few seasons ago. Forwards normally mature but I cannot recall the last time he broke the line.



I do wonder about the long- term feasibility of the current model. If Leigh get promoted, with Degsy at the helm, they will fall into another boom bust cycle and I agree that Leigh will have the better of Fev down the stretch. Its hard to compete with that wage roster; NRL squad players like Aekins and Amone would have been on a minimum 75k. Asiata was playing regularly at the Cowboys and Broncos and would have been playing regular for the Bulldogs if he wasnt anti- vax. McDonald is an NRL player, and quite frankly it speaks of either his lack of ambition to be playing championship or he is being compensated handsomely for this sojourn. I like the way we are building on and off the field but we probably need a significant income stream (some form of asset ownership) to really credibly think about dooper league. If we can we get into that semi- final game, our stock will still be high to attract a calibre of player and with one of Leigh and Fev out of the picture and depending whose for the drop, Toulouse if they manage to stay injury free are still in with a shout.
