Just a little heads up for anyone using a premier sports subscription, I’ve had a bit of a debacle with them over the last couple of months, it’s a long boring story but I went to cancel my subscription today via the online portal and received a message asking me not to leave , they give me it half price for 3 months so it’s worth a try .

First, Brad playing for Huddersfield reserves was madness.

Then a few posts later it becomes good for him. :?

Second, 3 main parties would be involved in the decision all with equal say in the matter and if any one of them said no thanks then it wouldn’t happen.

Taking into consideration the 2 main benefactors out of the 3 of them in this case are Brad and Fax that’s not a definition of being subservient, in fact it’s the exact opposite.

Third, the original post concerning Brad playing was to do with team selection from the 21 for the Batley game and with Brad turning out on Friday night very likely ruled him out, it really is as simple as that.

The pro’s and cons of DR as a concept were not being discussed in that post but was introduced by your good self again as were the imaginary subservient cataclysmic claims of what it would mean for us as a club.

Many years / seasons have passed since our first DR relationship with another club and if anything we are no worse, possibly slightly better than we were from that time and in any case where we are and where we will go in the longer term, DR will not be the deciding factor.

Obviously you do not understand the straw man principle but to do so just have a look in the mirror, or I could be just making it up.

I see you like a drink or 2 and this is said in jest could I suggest you try some of this homebrew.

Or maybe you already have mmm 100%. :thumb:

It's madness having an 'arrangement' with Huddersfield. When we started it the statement from ourselves said we were delighted with our partnership. I, and many I know we're not. That said it is obvious that wherever BK gets minutes under his belt will be good for him. Helping Huddersfield out with their reserves is another matter. I say again, the longer we carry on with the farce that is dual reg, the longer SL clubs will be lapping it up. Elland Craft & Tap Nettethrasher 4.4% Mmm ! :thumb: Up The Fax!

Brad Knowles wasn’t supporting Huddersfield reserves, to say so is another distortion of the facts.
That thought and DR won’t have even come into his mind he was simply trying to get some game time and they were the highest level available to do so.

Whenever a Fax player turns out for another club from their own and a Fax perspective first and foremost it benefits and supports them.

A couple of DR examples past and present.

Past. Dan Murray came to us on DR from Salford and played a few games before moving on, a couple of years go by and he becomes available again and chooses Fax, why because he enjoyed his first stint loved the place and wants to be here and is one of the best young props in the division.

Present. Ben Tibbs got valuable minutes which along with his efforts in training has played a major part in him getting a first team start and performing like he is for us, we, he and Fax benefit far more than Huddersfield have, these are simple facts.

Without that option Dan would never have been here and Ben could have easily been one who slipped through our fingers and our loss in both cases.

Yes everyone understands your view on DR, after all virtually every week , month after month year after year you have said the same thing for the millionth time.

That is an obsession that shows no respect to other people’s intelligence and coupled with the inevitable derogatory fabricated statements about the club such as being subservient shows no respect for them either.

It’s interesting that many who say “no” to something and complain about it never have anything better to replace it with, have you?

If so please start another thread on your solution to DR and everyone can have an opportunity to debate it without hi jacking every other thread.

So according to you now we have, when a player turns out each week for another club on DR everyone involved is performing some evil act and you claim their  for doing so.

And the claim. The club are doing nothing just because it doesn't agree with you, rather a narcissist, selfish, uninformed view point wouldn't you say from someone who by his own admission has no idea of what is going on internally within the club.

As proved by the previously sited examples, as opposed to fantasy the facts show the club are doing something which is to use an option to their and the individuals advantage both in the short term and longer terms.
As i stated I notice despite your intense opposition to DR you haven't come up with a workable alternative and by doing nothing are you not fitting into the definition of your own first sentence :?:

On DR it depends how you define "Support" and actually you have missed the point and context of it being spoken about in this thread which was to show your absurd erroneous claims that the club were subservient to Huddersfield because Brad Knowles played Friday night.

Not only is it evident what your views are on DR but also that your the one being held subservient to it, your a slave to your own obsession.

Re: Batley Home : Sun Aug 07, 2022 9:34 am
The thing is we currently aren’t in a position to finance a reserves team so DR is the next best thing , considering Ben tibbs who was plying his trade in the Huddersfield reserves up until the Workington game is living proof it works for us , he’s been in the starting line up since being preferred to arundal ( playing superleague till last year ) and McComb ( last years most improved player for the panthers) scoring more tries than our highest try scorer last year ( salty) in half the time , seems to me the relationship isn’t a negative one in that instance. It also means in another scenario with Cole Oakley who’s been DR with hunslet is match fit , learning his trade and can conceivably be the ‘ next Ben tibbs ‘ next year , otherwise he’d have been sat in the stands or being the water carrier singing’ what the hell am I doing here’. I think we’re using the system brilliantly to our advantage not the other way around.
It seems to me ( if rumours are true) the plans are to focus on the funds available to have a quality 1st team so we will qualify for the 2 tens super league 1/2 and receive approximately £700,000 of funding from img , which may in turn be able to invest into a reserve grade .

DR is a system that almost everyone would like to see scrapped but no one can come up with an alternative.

Where Fax are concerned when they are involved they are the ones who are controlling it to their benefit and not the other way round as claimed by Hudds and this is what the facts show and where I and why I disagree with him.

The system to get rid of DR would for all clubs to have a reserves team in a proper league structure. Which we had years ago and it worked. I am old enough to be one of the thousands who went to watch the reserves on a Thursday evening at Thrum Hall However the RFL had decreed that only Certain (privileged) clubs are allowed to run them. Which is why the state of our game is where it is as there is no proper and well run path way for all level of players to Move to the professional game at what ever level they can compete in
