What a great day, watch KCP beat Knottingley who are having a very good season. KCP moving up the League. Of my adopted teams well played Greetland, tough luck Queensbury. Irish are coming good, but, o'h Siddal what's happening? Back to the KCP game, as I say every week, Rugby League is the best sport in the world, and no matter what level, it's the toughest as well.

Not sure what is meant by the 'oh Siddal what is happening?'
A good effort this season which many people thought would be a relegation fight after the first quarter of the season.
New coach turned things around and to finish 3rd in the highest flight of amateur rugby show's what a good job he did with a paper thin 1st team squad.
Alot of young talent at Siddal and a bright future for many years to come.
Look no further than KCP v Bank Top Harriers, 4th v 3rd, today will show whether Park really are improving. See you all their, but hey, leave your brollies at home. It's Rugby.
Should be a good one up at Greetland today, battle of the hillbillys.
It was an absolute cracker of a match to watch and played in good spirit, very physical encounter and just as a local derby should be played out, well done to both teams. Greetland 20 Stags 24.
Just a shame they signed those conference lads in at Stags, Tom Harnett scored all of their tries playing at centre. Ben Manning was best for Stags & Chris Robinson got Greetland M.O.M.
Large crowd to watch & it's a long time since i've seen the clubhouse so full on a saturday teatime, good day all round & well reffed by Charlie Neilson.
Very little cheer for yesterday's local sides looking at the results apart from Stainland winning against Woodhouse & Siddal winning the derby with Whitehall. The Greetland lads are all in shock at the injuries suffered by one of their players while working on friday, am not surprised their minds weren't totally on the rugby field yesterday.

Watched Irish v Wibsey, 14 - 26, Wibsey up 26 nil at half time, 14 points for Irish within 15 mins of the second half, but, you knew it was never enough. Irish look a shadow of themselves from last year, one player yesterday has played for KCP all season as a sub, he fell out and now he is playing for Irish? Why are Irish now so short of players? one theory is that it's because their second team is in Div 7 and none of them want to step up. Admitantly it is a big step up. Ironic? the ref is a Super League touch judge, us four thought he handled the game very well, well we are unbiased, all the rest, Irish supporters and Wibsey supporters were very vociferously against him. One question? If you had to take so much abuse would you bother?
We had 20 players for our 2nd team yesterday travelling away to Thorne so hardly short of players. Our 2nd team is mostly young inexperienced players with a few of us silly old buggers. Massive gap between the sides and the lads just aint up to it yet, Pennine Premier is a tough division with a number of quality teams. As for Arnie he is a good player he just needs to be loved

No disrespect intended, I always enjoy watching Irish, good players but, there seems to be a few missing since early season. Saturday Dave Smith was a sub and never got on the pitch, I think Dave is one of the better players. Do you know why he didn't get a look in?

Was it "TV Tony" ?
They could always borrow some conference lads John, it works for others.....
The governing body are selling the amateur game badly short by offering all year round RL. It's not attracting new players to the game, quite the opposite from what i've witnessed 'cos lads are now doing one or the other & a lot of lads cricket during the traditional off-season, and conference lads are drifting in and out of Pennine league sides. I predict that there will be fewer sides clubs soon turning out as a result of all year round rugby. The logical thing would be move to summer months & then the game is at one with itself in that regards.
