James back to the Bulls : Tue Feb 24, 2009 8:28 am
http://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/local/J ... 5008590.jp

Lets try to steer clear of another debate about Gareth Moore, he's back at Leeds now and clearly didn't cut the mustard, otherwise he's have started at Hunslet...

As for Matt James, Sensible move by Fax to keep the relationship with the Bulls Sweet, He'll be back soon by the sounds of it so no need to panic, as long as we win one of the next 2 games we're through to the knockouts.

I kind of expected James tp be called back given the injuries to Langley and Solomona, sort of the benefits of having such a good strength in depth, it gives Wrenchy a run out and could also give much needed match fitness for those needing to get fit before the league season like Wilson and Cherryholme.

The little I know is this.
He was back at Headingley having lunch with some of the first team yesterday.
When asked by a number of players and staff why he was back, he just said that Leeds had told Halifax he was returning and that it was pointless him being there if he was going to be sat in the stands, and would do his development no good at all.
There were No fights, no taking bat and ball home, not going to another club.
I was reading the comments yesterday aimed at him which I think are grossly unfair and inaccurate.
he did want to play thats why he went there, I think if you had seen a bit more of him on the pitch, you would probably be up in arms about it rather than slaughtering the lad.

I presume you are talking about Moore rather than James (the post title).

If that is so, I agree with you.

What little I saw of him i liked. He looked pacey, had a good eye for players around him and could kick a good goal. for me a bl00dy good all round half back and he would probably played himself into the first team had he been given time. That said we have an abundance of half backs and NO second team for them to play in, when they are not playing first team rugby, so perhaps his wages could be better spent elsewhere.

Good luck to him in the future

nice to keep the relationship good.

we are going to get to knock out stages of the rail cup without him i feel so as long as he is back for the widnes game it is a good decision from fax.

Plus, if we had tried to keep him until May as the deal stated, would he want to play for us under those terms? Hope he gets some good Super League games, but doesn't play too well!!

Not sure how long they intended us to have him anyway-

http://www.bradfordbulls.co.uk/news/405 ... OR%20JAMES

"It was always our intention to put Matt out loan for the first part of the year at Halifax but he's really knuckled down here in pre-season, is in good condition and has had a great attitude. With the fact we've got a couple injuries too, I had no hesitation in bringing him straight back"

No mention that we've done them a favour by agreeing to let him be recalled early.
