We had a chnace early in the Salary Cap era to stamp on infringements, and we (RFL) wimped out.

Have to say I agree entirely with Gary Hetherington on this part:

Hetherington added that Leeds would not be seeking to be awarded Melbourne's 2010 world crown.

"I have noticed the punishment in Australia has seen Melbourne stripped of their titles in their domestic competition but those titles have not been awarded to the teams that they beat and I think that is correct," he said.

"Trophies are earned on the day of the game and we would not look to seek the awarding of the World title after the event."

Kudos to the NRL for their quick and hard reaction to this. Hopefully the Storm will regroup and re-emerge as one of the top teams in the game, only this time playing by the same rules as the other teams.
