That is one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever read on here.
Goldy was forced to make that pass because of the lack of organisation throughout the line of attack. Each pass was forced because the attacking line was not set, every time a player turned to pass another player was in his face and in the way. That is the attacking lines problem NOT the person passing the ball.
Ok the attacking line wasn't great, I'll admit that. However, a player is never 'forced' to pass!!! Maybe if it's the last few minutes of the game and you need a score...yes then you are 'forced' to pass and keep the ball alive.
Why couldn't he run at the line? Take a man on? Go into the tackle and control the ball for a quick play etc. Grubber it through!! He's been having a good season so far, however for a player worthy of McGoldrick's pay packet the options more than just a forced flat pass!
The whole world and their dog could see Longy waiting to intercept. The pass he tried to make was outragsously badly timed, like a school boy panicing. Longy had the time to lick a stamp and put the ball in an envelope...the whole Wheldon Road end gasped and could see what was about to happen, and it did. He hasn't got the nickname 'Flat pass McGoldrick' for nothing.
Forced to pass....c'mon, we had Thaler for laughs today!!
