Given the news that Kevin Walters will be standing down at Catalans after this season, what chance Terry Matterson following Sherwin over to France for next season?

It's something I could see happening given the way our season is shaping up. It could be a move which would suit all parties concerned. I like Matterson but I just think a fresh change may be the best thing for all.

To be honest, I think this could be good for us, we need someone with fresh ideas and who can get players fired up and discipline them when they need it.

Matterson just doesn't cut it for me anymore. We need an overhaul of our defence and recently attack has become flat with some players not being able to point at the line let alone get over it.

And I have to say, the one out rugby style that we seem to have picked up is boring as hell to watch!

Don't see it myself. TM has a year left on the cushiest contract in SL - working for a club with zero expectation and even less appetite for the effort it would take to replace him. At the end of his remaining year there is every chance we will be out of SL so he returns to Oz with his employment record intact and his agent proclaiming the wonders he performed with the unfashionable minnows of the competition.

Failure at Catalans would be very public, less excusable and more damaging to his longer term NRL aspirations.

Can't argue with any of those points.

Not sure he is good enough to become an NRL first grade head coach though, in fact i know he isnt.
