Castleford Tigers have continued their investment in youth development by signing a club record ten players on professional terms from scholarship. Nine of the young players were signed from the club's own under 16s scholarship side which comprehensively beat Huddersfield Giants, Bradford Bulls, Wakefield Wildcats, York City Knights and Sheffield Eagles this year. Nice to see we pinched one from Leeds.
Things are looking good for the future. All we need now is a new stadium and a new SL licence

we have signed some good lads here and i know at least two of them had a good sum of money offered to them to go elswhere but but they both knew deep down they didnt want to play for anybody else except cas,if we are lucky enough to keep our super league spot these players will be key to our future sucsess.

With the amount of yoth players we bring through the rfl really would be short sighted not to give us a new license.

Cant see how they can kick us TBH youth development is awsome , 2 top 8 spots (hopefully) No financial problems good crowds(numbers before ya start) ! i cant think of clubs worse than us in all these areas but does depend on if there is an agenda

This is fantastic news and i for one have been critical in the past of the local juniors we have missed, over the last couple of years i think we have done an exceptional job and to be fair to the club aside from Ben Crookes and Jack Pickerill last year going to Hull FC and so far only George Marchant and Jack Cockerham this year going to the Bulls we have the cream of the rest.
Ive followed local junior r.l for years and one thing is for sure - many more quality juniors are on there way !
Our current position and uncertain future i feel will mean losing Shenton is inevitable (would have said the same for Owen if the injury he suffered had not happened) if we can retain our license next time round i feel we will be in a great position to not only retain the likes of Owen, Westerman and many of the other talented juniors we already have let alone the ability to keep attracting these youngsters in the future.
