I'm currently planning a charity walk from Hull to Widnes. Yes, I know its been done, but so has the london marathon and Everest, but not by me!!!
I'm doing it for 4 charities; The RL Benevolent Fund Mental Health Foundation National Autistic Society Benguema High School in Freetown Sierra Leone for whom the school I work for (Stretford High School) has a partnership to sustain their regeneration after the civil war. The money raised will go towards the refurbishment of classrooms at the school The target is £4000 - £1000 for each cause. Along the way Im taking pictures to make a book capturing the spirit of RL communities. This will be sold to support the effort. I hope to capture the essential feel of what a traditional rugby league town is all about. I'm starting at the Hull v Wigan game on Friday July 29th, finishing at Widnes v Leigh on the 7th August. The route will be; Hull FC to Castleford Tigers, to Leeds Rhinos, to Bradford Bulls, to Halifax, to Oldham, to Salford Reds, to Warrington Wolves, to Widnes Vikings. Anyone who wants to walk part of the way with me just come along!!!!
