Average is a word I would use to describe Castleford and Wakefield. You can't deny your schedule has been the easiest of SL clubs thus far? Combined with a run of form has seen you reach what can only be described as a false position. With a lot tougher schedule coming up I would expect you to fade out in the last 2/3rds of the season. at the start of the season were what you could describe at best as below average but recent signings and the young guns coming up to speed I really think we have the edge in playing ability, I expect Wakefield to grow in strength for the remainder of the season.

To be fair you haven't really beaten anyone that will finish in the top 5 with the exception of Huddersfield, a team that had consistency issues over the last couple of seasons. Good Fridays loss to Crusaders been a typical example.

Now now Gasbag you have quoted me out of context there. I did say with the addition of new signings and the young guns coming up to speed I expect us to have that edge. Whats is so "crap" as you put it about that statement or anything else i've mentioned?

Millward knows Saints have a lot of injuries, they've recalled Tom Armstrong from us and he's gone straight into their team. They're missing Pryce, Wheeler, Perry, Flannery, Clough and Gaskell.

You've been able to rest in a key position at hooker and bring in a like for like with Milner in for Clark

Other good news for you is Ade Gardners playing too.

We were missing Fozzard, Widders, Isa, Youngquest and Clark then we lost Huby too.

Interestingly enough I think with Youngquest in place of Owen, we'd have had tries from the two breakaways down the left on Friday and the one yesterday. That's the way it goes sometimes I supposed.

Does seem to be turning into a bit of a habit with cas getting in front and letting it slip. Do you think it is down to fitness or just players losing concentration.

On Friday and against Harlequins it was a case of thinking we had the game won and not employing the killer instinct that we showed against the likes of Crusaders and Salford. Yesterday was a different story - a narrow lead against a top quality team with lady luck on their side. Had we played against Harlequins or Wakefield like we did yesterday, I believe we'd have recorded comfortable wins.

Saints have done that before to better teams than cas and no doubt will do it again. If it is just a case of players switching off when they think the game is won what can be done to stop it in future games?

I'm hoping Friday's embarassing copitulation was a wake-up call for the players and a reinforcement of the fact that if they don't play for 80 minutes, they can't expect opponents to just roll over and die before them. As I said, they never gave up yesterday, it was just bad luck.
