on wakey site, someone has mentioned a merger with dewsbury, wakefield rams.
The thing is no ones told Dewsbury yet, fact is the Ram stadium is in Dewsbury and you could not call merged side Wakefield if it played in Dewsbury could you.
I have no doubt AG's spoken to anyone and everyone to cover all options but the merger bits made up.
The Dewsbury ground is very close to Wakey, but can't see a merger, maybe a ground share though if Wakey in championship 1, Wakey were after all talking once again of playing in Barnsley, which is much more of a journey. Also think about the con which was the Sheffield/Huddersfield merger and the Hull Gateshead merger, they could hardly be called close neighbours?

They could hardly be called Mergers either could they.
Dewsbury ground to centre of Wakey 5 miles, and Wakey to Oakwell 9 miles
If you were walking from one ground to the other then it would be significant, but in a car etc.....it's neither here nor there in terms of the difference in distance.
Having said that would Dewsbury come under Wakefield or Kirklees council? and would that help smooth the situation.
Either way, it's not Cas.....so do we need to be taking about it?? I think NOT!
