time for action! : Mon Mar 22, 2010 2:02 pm
I am willing to see what TM and the boys can do against the Crusaders on friday night and i am hoping for a win and a rare home win (the first since crusaders were last down.)
But if we dont win i want to organise a peacefull protest in frustration against whats happening at cas. In my eyes TM has this game to save is job and if he fails its time for him to go.Losing to the Crusaders at home would be a total embarrassment and prove that our home form is no voodoo. By TM going early (before end of season) it gives a new coach the oportunity to come in look at the players we have and sign players for next year before they all sign elsewhere with the priority been a new scrum half and a full back.
Chants behind the main stand (near restaurent) after the final whistle would be heard by all board members and would let the club know how the fans feel. This is not being unfair to anybody at the club just the chance to tell them how we feel.

As I said on the other forum, why would the result dictate whether this takes place or not? If you feel strongly enough to protest, surely 1 win against Crusaders shouldn't deter you from voicing your displeasure at the current regime?

I personally think it's far too early to be doing stuff like this. If we don't pick up points against the likes of Crusaders, Salford, Quins then perhaps I'd consider TM's position.

For a start, I would guess that if you're going to organise a protest the last thing you want to do is leave it uncertain as to whether it's actually going to take place.

Fair enough, we've all spent money on tickets and merchandise this season, that's all part of being a supporter.

I think you're jumping the gun, have a look at our next 6-10 games and you'll see there are plenty of "winnable" games coming up. If we fail to impress during that period then I will almost certainly agree that something should be done.

thats a fair point but confidence going into a tough 3 game easter period would be rock bottom after losing at home to crusaders if we do

Was last season wasted? 7th and in the play-offs was pretty decent IMO. I agree that we should be looking to kick on this year. While we've started fairly poorly and look as though we should have invested better in the playing staff, it's still early days.

You would feel the same at most of the clubs, being a Trin fan we have been through some lean times you support your club through thick and thin not just the good times.

As an aside I dont think Cas are far off, its taken us a long time to get where we are (competative on a regular basis) we now have an excellent youth set up that is starting to produce a crop of good players every year, this year being the biggest, we have had to invest more in older players to blend the side but I am sure our young lads will be vastly more experienced for it because they are not getting beaten every week.

As for cas I think you are a couple of years behind and you have a good youth set up however the strength is not there are first team level yet to support them playing in numbers this causes a dilema for the coach and fans.

We'll just have to see how it goes.

the differance is you have a proper coach with discipline and young players briming with confidence because they know that if they perform to a high standard they will be rewared with a game. At the moment Cas youngers are losing confidence with the set up and moving elsewhere because aussie players can do no wrong under TM.

Re: time for action! : Tue Mar 23, 2010 8:41 am
What Cas need to do is concentrate 100% on keeping the majority of their Scholorship players from 14, 15, and 16's. The scholors at Cas at that age group are by far the best young players in the country. I could name 10 now who have a bright future, and are all from around the Wakefield district.

I think that now the scholorships are starting to play games, most of you lot if you get the chance should at least try to watch one game of each age group (only 15's and 16' play games) , and smile, as I cant see any other teams getting anywahere near them.

Re: time for action! : Tue Mar 23, 2010 9:14 am
I'm pretty sure TM didn't break Owen's leg, or injure Widders, Ferres, etc. Come to think of it, he didn't award that last try vs KR either, or keep Warrington at full strength despite their tactics, or give any of those other dodgy decisions Cas have suffered so far this year. There may be a debate to be had about his half time team talks, given that there seems to be a pattern emerging where we go through a 'patch' at the start of the second half, but apart from that...

I don't know if anything's going on behind the scenes, but I'm damn sure this "let's have a protest" culture will solve nothing.
