i think the clue was in the "Staying" bit.

Don't know where he has got his info, but it is a safe bet a stadium couldn't be built in time for 2012.

Don't take no flaming Einstein on both counts ffs.

ct.

Obvious that it wouldn't be built in time for next season, anyone could work that out. As long as the building work has started we'll be fine.

We are moving into the new stadium in 2013. We kind of knew that was going to be the case.

The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!'

We will be staying at Wheldon Road.

Yesterday night, the CTSC (Cas Tigers Supporters Club) held an evening called 'Meet the Directors', at which 3 directors attended to answer questions.

Very early in the session, the simple and direct question was asked 'Will the new stadium be completed ready for the start of the 2012 Season?'

RW - Responded by in many words but basically saying NO! He then went on to expand about how it is a misconception that a 2012 conforming stadium is an 'absolute' requirement set by the RFL, and that it is in fact one of the many requirements for consideration as 'part' of a franchise bid. However it is not an absolute 'you must have' requirement.

Obviously this lead to many other surrounding questions about the build status of our stadium such as 'if' and 'when' it will take place.....and also a review of the now seemingly contradictory statements previously issued by RW in regards to the 'progress' and delivery of a new stadium. One of the other directors Andy?..then contributed to say that in directing the club as a business, they have to make sure that they make best use of the clubs assets, now and for the future. The major asset of course being the current Probiz Coliseum. The intended sale of this land would be targeted toward housing, and with the current state of the housing market it would be wrong for the Directors to accept such a drastic de-valued offer for this asset in todays current 'housing market' climate. This status may remain un-changed through the course of 2011 and indenfinitely onwards.

The question was then raised in regards to what period of time is required to construct a stadium? To which RW, answered 40 to 50 weeks. The second question was then raised highlighting the fact that if construction therefore does not start before February 2012, it is not un-reasonable for the fans to expect that the 2013 season will not start in 'the new stadium'. This was partly acknowledged by the Directors.

Amongst the other questions raised were such as the contract status for many of our younger shining stars, Arundel, Clark, Milner, Walker, Holmes. All of which it would appear have signed either 2 or 3 year contracts with the club for after this season. Negotiations are under way with Huby, as the club does wish to rettain him.

All attendees of the meeting were urged to be patient and continue with the positive and good momentum within the club at present, as the stadium news is by no means all 'doom and gloom'. RW and the Directors are hoping to offer the supporters some 'very good' news of another nature within the next 3 weeks or so. An they feel that this will significantly offset the disappointing news regarding the stadium.

I would like to echo the above to say 'Get behind the boys on Saturday, this can also be a very positive period for the club and let's continue to show the RFL why Cas derserves a franchise!!' C'mon Cas!!!

The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!'

Other things to add of interest perhaps.

'Buy a brick', has now sold almost 500 bricks.

The club has been approached by 5 or 6 coaches in application for the Cas coaching position for next year. The subject continues to be raised with TM, however there is nothing yet to suggest he will stay. Andy Hay was mentioned, which lead RW to talk about his recommendation for the appointment of Steady from within, hence the suggestion of appointment from within seemed to fizzle out!

Sales of season tickets through out SL are down, on last year. Cas are looking into new ideas. One suggestion raised was a 'flexi-book', of say 7-10 tickets which could be used at any game.

Approx 30 Hull KR fans were removed from the ground on Sunday due to mis-conduct and fighting with each other.

RW requested the fans to be on their absolute best behaviour during the home games against Celtic and Wolves....for obvious reasons.

The flood lights have been fixed. However they only omitt 300 lux of light, 2012 regulations require minimum of 1000 lux.

The new match day programme was hailed as a sucess, as is the website for communicating information.

Cas recently gave out 2500 tickets to school kids in the area for either the Huddersfield or HKR game, of which 500 were used.

Xscape has raised an objection to the new stadium, on the basis of fans using the Xscape parking facilities. The extra business that it may bring Xscape before and after the game was duly mentioned.

Parking facilities in the design meet with Wakey Councils requirements.

Rumour of the Wildcats wanting to re-open ground share discussions were quashed. The Directors clearly stated that Wakey have nothing to bring to the party.

It was recognised that within the CTSC and Cas Tigers fan base in general there are persons of various backgrounds, skill sets and professions. Those who feel that they have something to offer the club, at what ever level, voluntary or otherwise, should contact the club via the website and offer their skills or services.

* It was also requested that to counter ballance any objections, supporters and neutrels should write to the club in support of the new stadium before the end of March 2011. Basically saying how much they are in support of the idea, how it will encourage them to use Exscape before and after the game, how they will use public transport more to attend the game.....'be real but use your imagination' all types of good things etc *

......as the day goes on, if anything else comes to mind I will add it!

Did nobody ask if Cas had the money to build a new stadium?

Reading between the lines here but waiting for another house price bubble before selling the current ground suggests no.

As you'd expect RW was questioned regarding the back tracking he was now making in respect to previous statements he had given.

One such statement previously given was that 'the funding is now in place' and although not mentioned last night I have personally heard him say that 'although it would be a major hiccup, the progress of the new stadium is not absoluetly dependant upon the sale of the current ground'.

RW - responded by saying that the funding status has changed on many occasions and each time he has issued statements, his statements had been true and correct at that time. He then continued to urge everyone to be patient and wait for the forthcoming announcement in 3 weeks or so.

A question was also raised about the 'Waterworld' and their current status in the project. RW, drew a separation and clarified that he doesn't know what their status is and that Waterworld was always an absolutely indepandent project to that of the stadium, as was the funding. It was merely a potential added attraction in close proximiety to the stadium.
