The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!'

The positives and the negatives : Mon Apr 25, 2011 6:59 pm
Firstly, a fantastic performance by Cas!! One of the best that I have seen them put in, in terms of effort, for a long long time. Really well played guys!!!

A great atmosphere today, provided solely by the Cas supporters. Credit to you/us all, it was non stop support and singing through the entire game. This shows that it is 'us'......'the supporters', that create the atmosphere even in squeaky new stadiums.

However in regards to the St's fans, who are usually a good bunch, I barely heard a peep out of them today. Their vocal support of their team was poor, in fact non existent until after the final whistle.

Phil Bentham.....well I am stuck for words. No matter what the result will stand, however there were too many mystical decisions that I'll need to see on video before fully commenting. However, lets just say that it wasn't his finest hour, and he needs to brush up on how to handle 'tackle counts' and 'knock ons' before spoiling another, otherwise great game.

Note to our stadium comittee, the 'run off' area behind the try lines and touch lines needs to be wider, and without the concrete kerbing as at the Stobart. These are a serious injury waiting to happen!!

One more negative.....Huby's injury, I wish him a speedy recovery. One hell of a player, and work horse.

Concluding thoughts a great peformance by Cas, and fantastic support from the cas Barmy army.

Roll on Friday!!!

Thought you were very good today and deserving of more than you got in the end. I'd have happily given you a win today were it not for the injustice of Friday.

I agree on Bentham, there were some very strange calls both ways.

Huby's injury was unfortunate, it was a superb hit on Puletua. I've never, ever seen anyone shake the big man like that. Something had to give there unfortunately and it happened to be Huby. Any news on what exactly the problem was?

And I can't believe you've not mentioned your half backs. Rangi Chase, on that showing, is the best halfback in Super League. Absolutely astounding performance. Danny Orr also ran his blood to water for you. I thought you were brilliant defensively, the tries we did score took some scoring and it seemed like you didn't make a mistake all game. I was very impressed with Cas today.

I chatted with a few St's fans outside the ground after, and they said pretty much the same. They also made it sound like Bentham was re-adjusting the balance of your Friday injustice!

Not strictly true. We were very loud for the last 15 minutes when the team stopped playing silly buggers and started to be a bit more sensible. We were as flat as a pancake until then. At one point I shouted 'why aren't we singing?' but that didn't work. However, Cas fans didn't shut up. Excellent support. And you turned out in good numbers too. Best away numbers since Wire visited, and by some as well.

In all fairness, everybody was probably sung out from Friday.

EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN

Re: The positives and the negatives : Mon Apr 25, 2011 11:25 pm
Positive has to be that with moments to go, and without a touchline kick, you would have gone top of the league after round 12. I'm prepared to concede that it is pretty impressive.

Now who the hell am I supposed to cheer for on Friday?
