Silverwood. : Sat Jul 16, 2011 9:14 pm
Amazin how one week after being the most hated referee in SL Richard Silverwood produces a decision that gives Cas an undeserved victory and guess what not a single posting. Come on you guys what have you got to say about him now? And yes I am a Cas fan.

What have I got to say? Correct decision. As were all of the video refereeing decisions.

The video ref decisions were correct tonight - hence no complaints, agreed there were a number of incorrect decisions (but not by the video ref by officials) one of which would have chalked off a Crusaders try, saying all this if the video ref had made the right decisions against Wigan, then I guess we would be another 2 points better off in the table.

THE CO-OPERATIVE CHAMPIONSHIP NEEDS A STRONG WIGAN

Re: Silverwood. : Sat Jul 16, 2011 9:33 pm
I'm not sure it was an underserved victory. It wasn't a good performace by any stretch but i thought we edged it overall.

Thought Owen had a good game.

Hmmm, second watch now; pretty crap game to be honest.

There is one huge positive, and it has nothing to do with referees, becuase they couldnt care less who wins and superstar Ben wouldnt give us the steam off his surplus liquids:
We won ugly, we didn against Bradford, we did against Wakey and we have done a few times this season....... How many times as a Cas fan do you go down to a galant defeat?

We deserve a top 8 berth, but you have to earn your just reward and I think we might be capable this season.

Got one when we didn't really earn it tonight, but it will show us with 2 more points in the paper tomorrow and now we can prepare for Huddersfield...... Are they favourites, of course, but can we rock them, sure we can and if we execute and we play to our potential, we can win - unlike tonight when we stunk but we earned our dollars ugly and hard.

On balance, the best you can get from any game is 2 points, we got them - so forget the game, the money is in the tin.

Night all.

Oh forgot to say; second watch tonight I saw the difference between an experienced hooker and a young hooker - Wagga tried to explain this to me once, but I actually saw it tonight!!!!!

Clarke played what the halves called and told him to on the majority of occasions. However, Hudson read which side was a man short with people on a lazy retreat or tied up at marker and plays what he see's.
Thats not a criticism, but never really read that kind of play before - I have read when Basil was at Saints, they always played with 9, 6 and 7 told merely to target the short handed side and that was the main plan between open and blind! Seems easy, I had 2 years at coaching and couldn't figue it out...... says more about me i think.

If you watch it back on Sky+ people and watch the hookers on both teams, was a good example tonight.

Love my Rugby League.

The game will survive in North Wales. Too much work and effort has been put in, to let it go to waste. We have an appetite for this sport and we'll make it work.

You're likely to see me in a Crusaders shirt, in a Warrington game or a Catalans game.

Most decisions by the VR were correct, but I thought your winning try and Tony Martin's alleged obstruction which cancelled out our first try were 50/50 and difficult to call.

I was at the game and watching it in live play, I thought it was an obstruction, but on the replay (both in the ground and when I got home) it seemed Martin was only standing his ground. He didn't really move towards Younhquest to purposely obstruct him in my opinion.

The winning try looked to me that he did ground the ball on the line eventually, but he was short firstly and then used a second movement to go over.

I thought we deserved the victory. Should have been finished by half-time really, but we didn't make the most of good field position. What lost us the game was not kicking the 2 points when we had chance to and not giving Michael Witt the kicking duties instead of Clinton.

There we go ! Same old same old for us. I'm used to it now.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Even if you ignore the the obstruction for the first no try, Reardon was about a foot in touch when he grounded the ball.

Did you think so ? I thought that his left leg was planted on the floor in the field of play and his right leg was up in there air - I think it would have been given.

Ah, well, its finished. You were more clinical when needed to be and played up to the end. Something we struggle to do !
