As I posted on Casforum:
And for that, today has brought a stark realisation for me. This is rugby league; yes it's a business, yes we need to progress but seeing the adulation, seeing our fans stand together - live together, die alone - what matters most is our game and its fans.
I have annoyed, angered and p*ssed off a fair few people over the course of the past three years. Whether that's a case of immaturity, just me caring so much for this great club, I don't know. But I look at Wakefield and their never say die attitude. I applaud that. The statements of the last three years, the in-fighting, the constant sniping - what benefit has it done. I have played my part in that and quite frankly I am embarrassed. We have something special and that is rugby league so to the Wakefield fans, who I know read this, I apologise. I don't expect them to accept it, nor do I want them to.
