DANNY LOCKWOOD - LEAGUE WEEKLY (18-5-09)

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.

If TM got done for those comments, then the RFL is a bigger joke outfit than I thought they were already.

After seeing his team take 3 weeks of **** he should be allowed to have a little rant, and tbh he should have made more of a fuss about it.

It was your indiscipline that caused the penalty count, your players tried to spoil a lot without the cleverness to get away with it.

Cas were allowed to slow the ball down for periods of the game but then suddenly Hewer seemed to decide it was no longer allowed and pulled them up repeatedly.

Seemed to be constantly looking for a reason to give a penalty all of the time and while Cas were no angels, the amounts of penalties he gave against them was harsh.

Rovers should have put more points on the board in the first half as I thought we looked the better team - just not clinical enough. Cas came back well in the second period and the game could have gone either way but Hewers whistle prevented Cas keeping their momentum going.

I thought he had a poor game all round, obviously I look at it as a Rovers fan, but had we lost, I wouldn't have been happy either.

These officials need to be held accountable for their performances as much as the players, clubs, fans or anyone connected to the game.

Last night I saw a frustrated Shenton shouting at the touch judge, who looked about seventeen, "Are you watching the fooking game"?

When a player is that pi$$ed off, then you know something isn't right.

Yep, especially when it's a player like Shenton who comes across quiet as well.

Touch judges are pointless these days, all they do is signal if a conversion is over or not, and some don't even get that right, everything to do with refereeing is a joke from Cummings down, and the disciplinary committee is even worse, warning letters are the most pointless thing ever.

Got to be said, the TJ's have really taken a step back this year, they don't seem to get involved at all

They haven't done this off their own back, some instruction must have gone out from Cummings :?:

He was shocking. How on earth did he fail to miss that on Dixon in mid air when sherwin put the kick to the corner. Shocking decision.
Kr were constantly offside but never got punished for it.

Probably right? Theres no probably about it???
And as for the second I know for a fact I am right. It didnt happen all the game but towards the end when all the decisions were going your way your players were way too quick off the mark.
It got to the point were me and the cas fans around me were laughing in disbelief at some of the decisions. Never been on here to complain about a ref before but he never made it a fair game last night which was a real shame.
