The hand on the throat was in completion of the 'trying to decapitate him' tackle. After which he thought he'd best try again a further two times in the game on the same player.
It's a real shame because some of your players are great to watch: Westerman, Owen (thought he was great tonight) and Chase for example, and don't seem to feel any need to 'prove a point'
Mind you, I used to get really brassed off and embarrassed by a lot of Newtons antics when he played for us.
