Shenny has been great all series - solid in defence. Has been a credit to the Cas youth system

Went to my 1st International game on Saturday at the Galpharm, and was dissapointed by a large group of fans around me constantly slagging Shenny off and even booing when his name was read out.
Saying he'd never get into any squad apart from the Cas squad and he has no right to be there at international level, i have no idea why!

I really had to bite my tounge on this one

There are some supporters that think if a back isnt scoring a try or creating one that he must be useless, these people are generally refered to as idiots and should be ignored.

Which club where they from?

Most from Huddersfield, and a few loiners. They also believed if Lee Smith had played instead of Shenny, there would have been many more trys and breaks.

shows what some people know about the game, the game is played 50% defence and shenny has been very good at it in all 3 tests, its a shame he hasnt had more chance with the ball cos we all know what he his capable of when given the space in which to run.

keep it up shenny!

i havent been a great follower of gb or england in the last decade but shennys inclusion has rekindled my love for international rugby and i will have attended everygame of the tri-nations in this country except the eng v aus game at wigan,i cant wait for saturday and shouting on one of our own stars to tri-nations glory.

They're probably right to be fair; Lee Smith's defence, commitment and discipline are no where near the levels that Shenny produces!!

Possibly another example of fans thinking that if you don't play for a top 4 team then you aren't good enough. Wouldn't be the first time and certainly wont be the last.

Loiners? well what do you expect far too many of them are quick to be critical of anything to do with cas. As for the hudds fans probably a fair few of them are still learning rl.

Lee smith cant score without the ball anymore than shenton can, smith would hvae also leaked a 2 or 3 tries and we would have lost the game.

Like i say these people are cearly idiots.

Absolutely spot on, if Lee Smith had played instead of Shenny, the turnstiles will have been open in our defence

Phil Clarke highlighted a period of play from the Aussie game in the build up to Saturdays game. In it he highlighted the fact that England made the wrong decision in attack. Shenton was wide open and had the ball gone to him he would have either gone in himself or been able to put his winger in.

Highlights a common thread in Englands play - they don't like giving the ball to Shenny!

How many of our tries have been scored by the backs?

vs France:
Smith, Myler 2, Sinfield, Hall, Briscoe

vs Australia:
Burgess, Ellis, Smith

vs NZ:
Eastmond, Fox 2

Out of 12 tries we've scored, 6 have come from the backs, 4 of them down the right wing, pretty much showing that the play hardly even comes down Englands left side. Two or three times the ball should have moved out left on Saturday and instead it went back to the middle. No conspiracy, I just think too many players are either backing themselves (hence 3 tries from the halves) or bringing it in towards the forwards and half-backs because that's the given gameplan - keep it tight (whereas Cas are more likely to shift the ball wider sooner).
