Do the attendances of saints, wigan, salford, oldham, swinton, widnes, leigh and warrington add upto more than cas, wakey, bradford, featherstone, halifax, batley, dewsbury, keighly, hunslet, huddersfield and leeds?

Does that translate to international attendances, particularly at under 18 level? I think not. I can't believe you think it was worth risking there not being a game at all (the forecasters have been known to be wrong, you know) than simply shifting the game to a venue where it was guaranteed to go ahead.

The risk the pitch wouldnt have been fit for friday was negligable, theres always a risk any game could be called off at the last minute for whatever reason but if the risk is next to none people arent concerned. At the very least the match should have been postponed 24 hours or moved to somewhere nearer like huddersfield. I understand your happy you get the game on your doorstep that doesnt mean it was the right choice.

It was to get the fixture played, otherwise we could be looking at playing it nearer christmas. There isn't a chance of the snow and ice shifting so it was the right time to change the fixture and gives a chance for friends and family of the players to make arrangements. If you think there was gonna be more than 1,000 people sat there in the freezing cold watchin an U18 fixture then you're deluded. Its done no harm changing the fixture and for the few hundred disappointed fans, then they'll live.

Oh and the LSV was a good choice, decent venue at short notice. Nowhere else locally (without having the same restraints as The Jungle had) could've put the game on.

It would have been the right choice wherever they moved it to. Do you seriously think that the Galpharm would have been available at 24 hours notice?

Common sense at last! Don't think the game would have been re-scheduled at all by the way as that would mean the Aussies having to stay over here longer than planned.

And how would you play it 24 hours later with the Aussie boys at the airport ready to go home?

No way.
Cas had their lowest attendance ever in Superleague this season. The last time an academy game was played at Wakefield there was nowhere near 2,000 there.

the u18s who usually play on a thursday night can attract anywhere from between 200-500 speccies.

i know their has been a lot of interest around the town in this game and its been well advertised especially with us having two players in the side which adds a lot of interest.

its all pie in the sky now and i can see why they arnt taking any chances with the game but imo i dont think there would have been a problem with the pitch has its always well maintained and its to be considerably warmer by wed night.

Why would it have been the right choice wherever they move it to? Some other grounds will not be fit for playing on by friday unlike castleford.

Why 24 hours notice? Theres more than 24 hours till friday and it would have meant most fans would still have been able to get to the game.

Castleford wont be fit for playing on Friday - have you seen the current temperatures? Unless theres a heatwave 8mile down the road from me, theres no chance! You wouldn't get local grounds such as Leeds & Hudds letting you play on their pitches (especially Hudds being at home on Saturday) & Wakey is in the same boat as Cas.

Any ground t'other side of t'pennines that hasn't seen the bad weather half as much as we have, will be suitable.
