"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Means more to beat Wakey with in the last few years especially with the franchises and us two being under the most scrutiny. Also our biggest home attendance last year = Wakey @ Home. Our biggest home attendance the year before = Wakey at home. Who do I really want to beat this season, Wakey at Millennium Magic.

Yeah it's nice to beat the neighbours, but it's just 2 points in the end.

To be fair, it's a pretty lazy way for a journalist to try and get information. So he shouldn't expect sonnets on why Cas fans care about beating a team most of them don't see as their major rivals.

Perhaps if he went to the Cas-York game last week and asked some Cas fans he might have got a better answer.

Doubt everything, even this

Strange that he's ignored the biggest grudge derby in rugby league and not asked Quins and Dragons fans what it means to beat the other …

:)

edit: I like this Loiner's response to the similar Leeds-Bradford post on southstander.com 8)

George Bush says 'we are losing the war on drugs'. Well you know what that implies? There's a war going on, and people on drugs are winning it! Well what does that tell you about drugs? Some smart, creative motherfookers on that side."

Excellent response!

I can't agree with your spurious argument.
Had the home games against Leeds not been on Sky and had poor weather the last 2 seasons, they would have been the highest attendance of the league season for Cas. As they had been 20 of the previous 25 seasons.

Prior to the last 2 seasons, the last time Wakefield were the highest attendance at Wheldon Road was Boxing Day 1983. The day Wally Lewis was sent off, i seem to remember. .

Also have to factor in the fact that the Wakefield one in 2009 had a deal on to bring a friend for a fiver or something.

Beating Wakefield means no more to me than gaining the 2 ponits on offer. When we beat the likes of wigan, warrington, saints and leeds that will mean something as we are expected to lose to these teams.
