Also ask most superleague fans where they would rather go. Our place or yours, I think you will find they would rather go to Cas.

Yeah because a couple of gap years is the same as 10 years of the backend of the RL world

Yes your TRYING to get a new ground hows that going by the way at the end if the day you can throw attendance stars round once our improvements are done we will be a B and the only place u can't see the game is the scoreboard end u can see perfectly fine from the north stand funny ain't it Leeds, Wigan , Warrington all the big teams fill the north stand so let's say no more.

I think the football song is true - you only watch when your'e winning., watch when your'e winning.

Easy when you are semi-successful, you had crowds of less than 2000 before you were in Super league, Robins not in the same class for loyalty.

In HKR's case I don't think it's all about winning because they were doing that pretty much every week in their last few NL seasons but still drew poor crowds.

Maybe there was never an appetite for NL while Hull FC were in SL and getting back into the same league as their rivals restored lost pride/interest around East Hull but for whatever reason attendances at NCP soared immediately after promotion and have continued to show steady improvement.

More significantly neither home or away support seems to drop significantly during poor spells of form and in that respect we Cas fans could not claim to have shown the same solidarity over the last 2-3 years.

We might deride the majority of Robins fans as 'Johny come latelies' but it looks like they're here to stay and I wish we could say the same about the couple of thousand who have fallen off our bandwagon since 2007.

We're coming to make some noise!

Re: Where were the Red Robins 5 years ago : Wed Mar 02, 2011 7:53 am
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!!! Ask yourself Scabbycat, where were the Red Robins 14yrs ago?

I'll tell you where, we were about to be thrust into a ten year spell of Administration, our crowds were down to the bare bones and many saw that the only way out of this hell hole was to merge and make one team that would be positioned in the centre of town (on the west side of the city mind).

However through grit and determination, numerous boards of directors, millions of pounds given with no way of getting it back, we have fought to bring Hull TWO Super League clubs that are thriving, giving back to those 1200 fans what they deserved when they raised money just to keep the club afloat.

So what if we have 6000 bandwagoners, so what if they all bugger off the day we don't play in the SL, I know I'll be there. But since it bothers you so much that we are going to bring away support to Wheldon Road (you probably never even went when it was called that) that will out sing your supporters with more than just one song I do hope that one day your hopes and dreams for Cas Tigers fall through and you have your very own pants pulled down while the Administrators probe you and all the rest of you "loyal" 5000!!!

Oh and as for Craven Park, look at the plans for our North Stand, put your head on the block and tell me you wont come because it's a rubbish view once this is built! The East stand will be one of the best terraced stands in the game while the club are still trying to find funding to get a new South stand built and by our own CEO's admission it will be something nobody in our region has ever seen before!

More than making it look pretty but you still won't turn up because you are a part timer that only goes to home games yet still moans because your mates have told you it is a rubbish view!!!

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Pretty sweet post apart from the wishing the Administrators round on us!
CP is probably the most intimidating ground for an away side in SL. Not a bad achievement from a side who were loitering in NL1 not doing a right lot 6 years ago. Personally have a lot of respect for everyone at KR (apart from Ben Cockayne_
