Disco - Expansion of the game is a good thing, undoubtedly, but in the main what people simply want to assert is that you don't kill the roots to spread the tree.

The Curtism - The battles are fought on the field and the friends are made in the bar. There's no hatred among real men.

EFC - In Martinez We Trust

Oh and we were only there cos the kids were involved in pre match entertainment.

I am genuinely sorry - I make the effort to talk to any fans around me, home/away/neutral - don't care, I want to watch a good game and have some friendly banter. Outright hostility is for on the pitch, and even there they are usually respectful after full time whether they've been battered or not.

I stood amongst Cas fans when you stuffed us at BV last season - good banter, and I never once felt like smacking anyone 'cos my team played crap!

just seen your post and I'm sorry to here your treatment at Belle view, this is unacceptable and not the feelings of most of us at wakefield, I was surprised to see a cas shirt in the ground when I passed you, have you made an official complaint to the club regaining what happened

I can understand why some WT fans show no respect to ANY cas fan what so ever & why some of our younger adult fans seem almost equally confrontational on our own patch, when you consider how they have grown up experiencing such hostilities at away games at the jungle!- which makes it even sweeter when we pan you on the field- where it counts!

It's a good job you did'nt watch RL in the 80's you'd have been scared to leave the house.

The common thread in this is booze. I like a pint at a game when I'm not driving, and I've been to every Grand Final but not sure I can remember any of them, and so I'm not being holier than thou about this. I just don't know how you get the balance right between letting people have a pint and allowing people to get out of control.

Maybe we ought to think about the football line and not allow alcohol in sight of the pitch if in the open air (just making Cats Bar stays open!). That would be a real shame, but if we are going to market ourselves as the family game, we can't allow people to get drunk and out of control at the game. If the people hadn't had the bottles with them on the terraces, there would have been nothing to throw and nothing to worry about. It would have been just lots of shouting.

And before anyone says anything, I know that would get rid of most of the beer places at Belle Vue, but I go there for the rugby, and could last eighty minutes without a pint.

I can see the club going down the route of banning beer in the ground again. It is a lot easier to punish everyone than to actualy investigate and find who the small minority of moron's were that threw these bottles.

So the only other thing to do is punish them and the people like myself that just enjoy a couple of beers whilst watching the game that would never dream of throwing anything or causing trouble.
