Might get slaughtered for this but not as well as last year unfortunately. He has picked it up a bit since he came back from injury but Shenton is the best out of the young lot here at the minute imo.

I think you are quite right.

Westerman is having a much more difficult time this season - partly as a result of sophomore blues; partly because he does far too much tackling; and partly because we are not creating the busts out wide for him either.

Still think he is THE major prospect - but this should be a gentle reminder of minor issues.

Well done Shenny - also not at his best yet this season, but thought on Sunday the signs were looking better.

In your opinion, so no, not end of. Jeez, what is it with this board, nothing but negativity, I would as far to say that some 'fans' are only happy when we lose so they can pick out the faults and their own scapegoats.

Also amazed at the staggering amount of potential coaches we have masquerading as 'fans', clearly TM has no idea and should seek their advice post haste.

Check out my post on Chris Feather PA

Yes, he should listen, we need another option for kicking, we need a cool head who can read, and change the pace of the game, we need another creative half, we need someone to support the forward breaks---hey, I know a player that can do all this :!:

Never mind, lets just use him as the tackling machine he is

I wouldn't bother reading this bit, there is nothing interesting, witty or insightful down here, just this collection of boring words explaining that you really are wasting your time browsing this signature in the vain and futile hope that there will be a nugget, nay, a veritable goldmine of witticisms or divine philosophy. In reality, all you're going to get is disappointment, a sense of hopelessness and a random word.

.... and you would be the first to complain when we are conceding bucket loads of tries down the middle due to Joe being 'hidden' on the wings to keep his attacking prowess fresh

But hey, you know best. Me? I put my trust in the coach incumbent who has significantly more credentials than either you or I. He has got us into a good position atm due to his team selections and tactics and I see no reason to start doubting him now.

So remind me, how many points have we conceded this year?

Sione instead of Westerman in a halback position?

Goldy, brilliant attacking but no kicking game to speak of, defence and the odd rash pass of 2-instead of Westerman :?

Most of his junior career, and a couple of times in NL1 (I believe?)

Defence has been tighter recently, it was a minor flaw in Joe's game last season and has improved significantly and has added another dimension to his increasing amoury.

This board is all about opinions mon amigo, your opinion is not fact and I happen to disagree with it, don't take it to heart. Perhaps we ought to get rid of TM and get a coach in who will play Joe at 6 to placate you?

[quote="Gaslight"]So playing a wide running back rower in the middle is a good idea?

In attack no, in defence I think you will find that the middle of the park is usually occupied by the hooker and the loose forward, the general defensive positions are as follows:

W - C - HB - SR - P - H - LF - P - SR - HB - C - W

Sometimes the half backs and centres are the other way around, but on the whole this is generally recognised as a basic defensive format.

So I think you'll find as a loose forward Joe is expected to get through a lot of the heavy work down the middle in defense.
