Our completion rate must've been in single figures, we put far too much ball down and in turn put ourselves under far too much pressure at times.
I certainly think it was a case of nerves early on, but had Owen managed to score when he broke through, that may have settled everything down, but it wasn't to be.
When we actually started to play a bit in the second half, we took too many wrong options and sometimes looked ineffective in attack. Wigan were allowed to slow the game down quite a bit though, and as a result were able to get their line set and (with their line speed) snuff out our attack.
One positive for me was that our defence was pretty brutal and it's a shame it hasn't been as effective all season. Sure the game was rough, but they gave as good as they got; although (for whatever reason) our guys were frustrated at times.
Their points generally came from our mistakes and for that reason the best team won - they simply capitalised on our errors and punished us.
I think Sherwin may have been carrying an injury tonight, he was very poor at times. Losing Chase was a massive blow and McGoldrick was disappointing.
The best player on our team was Owen, closely followed by Huby and Shenton. All had great games IMO.
