I don't think you could call it a no brainer. Evans certainly strengthens our defence out wide, more so I dare say than McGoldrick would.
McGoldrick has served us well over the last few years. Never done anything outstanding in my eyes, but has certainly been valuable when it came to filling in the HB role. Furthermore, as someone mentioned earlier, other than discipinaries, he has been one of our most consistent in terms of appearences.
Saying that though, I think we can cover the centres well enough without him, and I don't think he offers anything more than what we already have in that area. As for the Half back cover
when Sherwin gets injured; I'd like to see Brierly given a chance this year if he is everything people are bigging him up to be. For full back; Owen, no question about it.
My view on the whole thing is, if someone wants him, snatch their hand off. From a business point of view lets get some money for him.
If this Crusader rumour turns out to be nonsense then keep McGoldrick as a squad player, as his versatility makes him usedul. I really think he needs to start showing something extra to make the first 13 week in week out though.
