read my post again.i meant that the author of the letter you linked in the y.e.p was unlikely to be the person who started this thread due to the writing style and rugby references. I,m happy to apologise for presuming he was a cas fan, however if your attitude is typical i,m sure he will have a very receptive audience on here!

I wish Wakey all the best getting a stadium, but I have to say that the whole of the land is shown on the UDP plan as Green Belt and was classified as that in 2003 and may be re-classified in 2013 . I can understand why there is so much opposition. The land does not have to be rolling meadows and woodland to be Green Belt.
Which is 1 year after the stadium opens, and around the scheduled time of construction of phase 2 of the development ie. the industrial units. coincidence? corruption as stated on the fliers?? or rather the council waiting for THE RIGHT TIME AND CHOICE OF DEVELOPMENT THAT WOULD BENEFIT THE REGION?????
Sorry about the caps but some people are repeatedly missing vital points and as such are kicking up a fuss over nothing and making themselves look foolish in the process.
For a moderator you post some tripe! Try looking at the planning application and associated documents on the council website. Floods, greenbelt? is lardarse your alter ego?
You really do seem to have a serious problem accepting that other people are entitled to an opinion. Deal with it.
Have you seen the plans? Increase in woodland and habitat for amphibious creatures, increased (industrial) drainage system, ban on HGV access through Methley and it's access road, strict clamping regulations in residential areas during RL games. As you can tell the plan is very well padded, on recommendation of the council. But lets think about the site at the moment. On the whole scrub, rife with fly tippers, land which the council have always said "will be developed sooner or later" & is due for reclassification very soon.
The vast majority of the claims made are waffer thin and have been well thought through (and are continuing to be amended to accommodate recommendations from Yorkshire Ecology) and will greatly improve the area in the long run, for the benefit of all within our Merry City.
There's still going to be urbanisation of an area on a pretty large scale. Is the industrial drainage system sustainable i.e. does it delay the release of water back to the environment at a rate similar to that of vegetation? It's well known that surface water drainage increases the level of peak discharge in the river, and reduces the delay in it being reached during/after rainfall and as a result, can lead to flooding. In the meantime, how long will it take for the increase in woodland to become established?
Naturally anybody down river of this development may have concerns, surely you can see that. There doesn't however, seem to be much effort being made in raising awareness of the precautions taken to avoid these issues given the links posted in this thread.

Any other concerns for any tigers fans living in that area???
At the end of the day 15,000+ residents wouldn't have signed up to support the scheme if nobody wanted it. This is the future of our sporting region, the desire is there and more importantly it has a funding package IN PLACE. not even Saints can say that and they are much further down the road than either of us or Salford.
The population need jobs. The region needs sporting facilities. The council need the additional income (tourism, corporate and rate taxes ect).
And it won't cost the council a penny. That or a scub land field?? Put yourself in the councils position, there is only 1 possible outcome of this application. Even if it gets bounced to the cabinet all parties are in favor of economic regeneration, which is exactly what this is. This project WILL go through.

I fail to see why you all are coming on here and assuming its cas fans that are complaining, i havent seen one objection posted to that effect, The only posts are observations thats all, I suggest you put your efforts into going down to the people who live down there and talking them into what you believe should happen. I dont care where your stadium goes, I dont give a flying fec about what will happen to the roads around that area or in methley. So stop getting touchy and stop convincing yourselves it is cas fans.

Both. again read the documentation; the original petition states that "the facilities can not happen in isolation from the rest of the project". People knew it was going to be cross financed by the creation of a larger development all along.
Anyway enough on here, if you want to chat more about it i suggest we do it on our board. This is becoming drawn out and think it may be better placed on our board where it wont detract from the original thread. (not that i don't enjoy your board, I'm on here as much as my own tbf!).
(oh and i wasn't insinuating that all posters on the planning board were cas fans, i was only asking if cas fans in Methley had any more questions to ask someone who had studied the plans in a fair bit of detail.)
