Matterson took us from the bottom of the barrell in NL to the Super League play offs. Its not gone great this year but we are still 10th in the comp, only ONE POINT behind triple champions Leeds Rhinos, and indeed two points from a play off place. Crowds are ok and people are working hard on the stadium project.
Its far from all bad. Im unhappy at the team at the moment but that doesnt mean Im going to chain myself to the shop and set fire to my Cas boxer shorts!!!!!
Get a grip, support the team and the club.
Ooh look at mr happy clappy here so because the team are 1 point behind a team that had THIRTEEN injuries is a good thing? the fact the defence is as woeful as ever is a good thing? the fact the attack is clueless is a good thing? as for "bottom of the barrel in NL1" don't talk daft, the best team in the league by a country mile, a trained monkey could have coached the team to promotion, last year he had a squad good enough to finish higher then what the team did, he led the team to some embarrassing defeats as well, all is not well and the fact he didn't get fired at the end of his first season is totally baffling.
"Therefore, surely nothing in life is to be feared, only understood. Apart from getting shanked at the cash machine!"
I love this city, this is my town. We get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud. i love my city this is my town, we get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud
Just be careful. The RFL won't look on it kindly if it all kicks off again.
I'm all for fan power and believe if you want change you need to make yourselves heard, and fwiw i think your getting an awful deal from JF and RW, I've said for years you are being mislead, but please make your point in a way that protects the club and shows your unity.
Emphasize to the RFL the good things in your club; your support, your loyalty and your unity, even when dealt with difficulty and trying circumstances. Don't give them ground to place the blame on you as fans, the club or anyone but those you deem responsible i.e JF and WR.
I have to say that as an outsider looking in, i think that some of you are getting a rather exagerated opinion of were you expect to be in the league.
Realistically your a recently promoted club, so should judge your results against the likes of Salford.
It takes time to build things, and Cas are a solid if unspectaclar outfit at this stage. Matterson may be no world beater, but who else are you going to get?
As fans you need to think more long term. There are some decent young kids at Cas, but its going to take some time for enough quality to come through.
Why have a go at Jack Fulton. A man who has ploughed hundreds of thousands of pounds into your club over the years. Without his money it would have been impossible to keep the squad of players you did in NL1. He has kept your club alive. Gone are the days when 4 thousand home fans can support a top flight club. As Jack Fulton gets on in age and I understand his health is not so good who can blame him for wanting his money back. The plan was that he would be repaid when the Jungle was sold, sadly with the credit crunch etc it has not been possible to find a buyer at the right place plus the other consideration of the chemical licence still remaining on the Hickson land means that at this time a housebuilder will not buy the jungle. So Jack Fulton is still on board and still will require his money but to the mans credit he is still doing his best for the club. Seems a low blow to have ago at him and spoil his pre match lunch.

What you mean like Michael Maguire with his VAST experience of top level coaching? a good well trained beginner coach that knows what they're doing will do a good job, a well trained beginner coach who has a passion for the side he's coaching will do a great job, imagine a Cas team that played for the badge and could defend, that's a top 6 team even with the current squad.
If you think that bloody wayne bennet could get a team with no depth to 6th place your deluded, the fact of the matter is we spend less than everyone bar quins and salford who are the bottom and below us while wire and wigan spend several hundred thousand pounds more than us and are at the top. If we get a rich backer we can become a force if we dont we will spend the rest of our time in sl moaning about our coach or coaches because they cant do a better job than everyone else with less resources.

Yeah but lets not let fact or reason stand in our way, 'Materson out'!
Absolutley ridiculous realy. Some of our fans need a wake up call, its not a new coach we need its 2-3000 more supporters or rich backer.
I can't say I'm over the moon at the way Cas have performed so far this season (compared to last), and maybe there's a deebate to be had about who ought be coaching the side right now. Personally I think the key problem is a chronic lack of depth, though there are certainly things the coach needs to put his hands up for too.
But I honestly can't see the point of organised protests. If you're not happy spending money to watch what's served then, er, don't spend it! I think it's safe to say the club will pay significantly more attention to a drop in income than they would to a few placards and banners. Just write to them, air your grievances and then explain exactly how much you're not going to spend on gates, shirts, matchday beers, programmes, etc...
Plus, as has been said already, protests just put out an air of negativity and discontent about Cas', playing right into the hands of those who want to knock us or (more seriously) get rid of us at the next franchise application stage.
