Well I think switching it on the night might be even more of an issue, to be honest. And putting it back to the weekend might cause a problem with the Aussie lads in the departure lounge.

The bottom line is do you think the Aussie and SL clubs [ including yours ] would be happy to see their juniors risking injury on a pitch that could be patchy at best , we need these tours more than they do , if they want a test all they have to do is take a 3 hour trip across the Tasman

The LSV pitch is one of the best in the country , it was re laid in the summer with the plastic stitching , it has no 1 st grade football team playing on it meaning is it one of the most underused pitches in the country

I understand your dissapointment , and I'm sure I would be arguing the same if we had the match originally planned at Hilton Park and it was moved , but the main concern here has to be the players , if you travel half way around the world , you have to be sure you are 1 going to play the games programmed and 2 the best facilities pitch wise are used

Thanks for letting me know the game has been switched. Very dissapointed as I've got rugby withdrawal symptons at the moment

As the Leigh fans have said already, I suppose the switch was a no brainer as temperatures aren't due to lift above freezing until Friday which will probably be too late for the pitch to thaw.

Who said anything about switching it on the night, the could have switched it to hudds first thing yesterday (as the did with leigh) and caused much less disruption.

Huddersfield Town are at home on Saturday so I severely doubt they'd want a rugby game played there on the Friday night.

Temperatures will be above freezing all day thursday and friday (as well as parts of tuesday and wednesday).

Why not, unlike ru, rl does minimal damge to the pitch, and they seem to have no problem with sharing with the giants.

Have you ever tried to 'turn around' a stadium overnight? Far more work than you can imagine.

Most of ice and snow would be cleared from the pitch, of whats left when it melts most of it evaporates and some melts into the ground.
