Watch the match from last night and look at the tackle on Ferres I think in the second half, where Lima and another player (cant remember who) pulled Ferres backwards over his own legs, Luckily they didnt get stuck because that could have been very nasty.

Watch that and come back on here and tell me that wasnt intentionally trying to injure a player in the tackle. I am not saying last nights match was riddled with it because it wasnt, but this was a good example of what people are talking about.

Funnily enough Lima always seems to be in the mix when it happens.

that kind of tackle happens all the time....I know what you mean as at the time I said it could have been an injury. Doesnt make it intentional.

Never seen so much Yorkshire bitter! Laughable, you can't half tell Wigan are top of the pile again!!!

We are playing within the rules folks. Sorry but its true, unfortunately the rest of the league needs to catch up

It's a shame that for all the really decent and genuinely nice Wigan fans out there, there seems to be one of you. Shame really because I genuinely have a lot of time for your fans and your team.

You can't argue with folks concerns with regards to player safety - even a few of the coaches have come out and criticised certain techniques that they believe are causing problems. Is it a coincidence that the rate of long term injury seems to be on the increase at the moment? I don't have any figures but I daresay there are quite a few teams missing a few players, yourselves included.

As I said elsewhere, the real cause of all this bickering between fans and animosity towards certain players is purely because the interpretations of some rules are simply not clear and therefore not consistently enforced.

On numerous occasions our player was held up by two men, only for a separate wigan player to strike at the legs. I believe this 'Cannonball' technique has been banned in the NRL?? ... Not entirely sure. Its certainly the type of contact that Ritchie Mathers has been campaigning on twitter to be banned for the last 3/4 weeks.

On numerous occasions undue pressure was applied to our players in the tackle. This undue pressure was, im my opinion, the cause of Jake's injury with 40 seconds to go.

Certainly not sour grapes, We’ve just competed for 80 minutes with the Superleague champions with 10 first team players in the stands, 8 home grown players on the pitch that are under 21 years of age. I’m Chuffed to bits!

What I do feel, is concerned. Concerned for the welfare of players taking on wigan. Although the techniques you are using are not illegal, they are certainly dangerous and not in the spirit of the game

From all the threads they've taken over spouting the everyone hates Wigan crap I've come to the conclusion that Wigan fans are the biggest set of know-nothing in professional sport.

You don't even know me pal!

I'm not arguing with your concerns about player safety, I'm saying Wigan are playing within the rules of the game..Fact.

You are very wrong about the rate of long term injuries within the sport, there are far less now than there has been. Find me an injury in super league this year that has been caused by poor tackling technique.

You're right, I don't know you. Nor do you know me so why you're referring to me as 'pal' is a mystery, unless you're engaging in some attempt at a humorous irony. My interpretation is based on your keyboard persona. You may be sound as a pound in person, so why be different on here if that's the case?

Vectrabeast wrote:

I don't believe I said Wigan weren't playing within the rules of the game. Indeed what I believe has happened is a number of fans have become aggreived with what's perceived to be a dangerous tackling technique, the interpretation of which is unclear on the part of the governing body.

As I said I have no figures on this, it's purely a perception - I don't recall a time when there has seemed to be quite so many injuries. Do you have any figures to share on this?
