Mixed feelings, I would strongly suspect that the appointee will not likely be Noble or Kear if I am honest.
The right choice in terms of continuing the brand messages would seem to be Andy Hay; 4 years as assistant and there is no question that day to day and week to week, he will be closest to the players. Unlike with Steady stepping up who had no experience of basement battles, being up against it, managing good runs and bad runs - Andy Hay has been through relegations, scraps for survival over achieving and under achieving, so that experience does count for him, usually when assistants step up that is with limited experience.
That would seem to strengthen the loyalty and development message we are trying to create. I don't know Andy and Terry's relationships to be honest; as a Manager myself, I try and empower all my team leaders and managers to act autonimously and operate with me being there for exceptions, not day to day life...... So if Terry has this MO at the moment, then that could be a good fit.
Oddly, I wouldn't mind him being coupled with Powell or someone equally experienced in tactical and long term strategies.
There you go another opinion FWIW - An oversee's option new to coaching over here would be a big gamble, it paid off with TM, but doesn't often work short to mid-term for most.
