The one worry I would have though is the astonishing number of "foreign" players that will be at the club next year (I really hope no-one attempts to excuse it with tales of ancestry).
SimonBarrett only mentions the forwards and he has already listed six definate "foreigners" with another potentially in Galea. All this without taking into account the backs.
Admitedly this is not wakeys problem though as it's the RFL who make the rules and wakey are only looking after their best interests so who can blame them.
This is the disappointing aspect for me.
I thought after 2006 when we had only 3 or 4 British players in that final decider that we were moving away from the foreigners. As you say rules is rules and it is the RFL that are at fault but I would prefer to see us retaining and recruiting British players (even better if they were locals).
Having said all that I do believe that we will be a better team next year although that may not be reflected in the table as can't see other teams (Warrington, Bradford, Hull, Wigan) performing as badly as they did this season
