no way was the Watts "try" a try, he gave it away when he slapped the ground knowing he had knocked on. atrocious decision by our suipposedly top referee
I'm all for "you win some, you lose some, get over it", but to be honest I'm at a loss to think of any Super League game Cas have ever won by means of a totally wrong decision inside the last ten minutes. Maybe someone can jog my memory?
When a player loses a ball forward and fails to regain FULL control, it's a knock on. A vague possibility of a finger end or the brush of an arm does not and never will constitute full control, therefore it was a knock on. The "try" simply could not have stood if the rules had been applied. Why Ganson chose not to apply them just beggars belief.
It's fine to say that if Shifty hadn't kicked out on the full, if we'd finished our chances... but if my uncle had t**s he'd be my auntie. The talking point here isn't about sour grapes or Cas knocking on on the 5th or Mattterson's selection - those things are smokescreens. The real talking point is a blatant disregard for the rules of the game by a so called senior referee despite him having the benefit of full video pause, rewind and replay to assist with his decision. The only answers I can come up with are he's either incompetent, or he wilfully and deliberately decided to put Cas behind the eight ball with just minutes to go.

You decide!
there is an agenda to keep certain teams and dump the rest in favour of some far away town that just dont care about league, we, along with salford and wakey are in the group that will be dumped sooner or later, hence the disgusting performances of the bent ham and especially ganson. we at cas have to get used to the fact we are not wanted in sooper dooper league. wakey are making the leagues decision to dump them hardb this time, we are playing into the leagues hands with our (non) close season recruitment and the endless smokescreen surroundind the new stadium (which will imo bankrupt the club) . time to jump into the lower leagues as a financially stable club or hang in this travesty of a league and risk bankruptcy or worse ... merger with those scruffs at belle view

As a kind-of-neutral (FC fan) I enjoyed (most of) the game but thought that Cas were denied a deserved victory as a result of the worst video referee decision I've ever seen. And trust me, as a Hull fan, I've seen some shockers.
The game was nip and tuck. After ten minutes I thought Cas were going to run away with it. Credit to Rovers, 10-12 at h.t. was a good claw back.
Both sides suffered as a result of poor decisions. However, IMHO, Cas deserved the victory. How on earth Watts' try was given will forever be a mystery.
I feel slightly aggrieved about some of the decisions. I didn't see Ainscough's try, nor did I have the benefit of the TV replay and couldn't see big screen so can't really judge.
Watts grounded the ball in time for me and was a try. Our attacking let us down. We should have been out of sight at half-time and Shifty let us down a few times in that first half.
Second half, can't fault us. Defensively good, except on our own line, the better attacking side. The best side lost but we cannot dwell on this. Pick ourselves up and get ready for a massive challenge v Hull on Friday.
I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.
Behave yourselves Cas fans, I'll admit Cas were just about the best team on the night, but this talk of being robbed is way off the mark. Bentham had an all round poor game. Both sides had questionable trys allowed, and both sides got away with murder because of Benthams poor showing.
Good game, two teams capable of better, but entertaining all the same.
Just to add, Liam Higgins, pile of cack, get rid.
