As has already been said, no two injuries are the same and we don't know that much about Richie's injury or exactly what he has been told to do. But it's clear he has been told to rest, after suffering a break, having an operation and a plate/pins put in, plus the infection which set him back even more.

Having suffered the same kind of break, operation, pins and even a smelly infection with it, i can't see anything wrong so far in his recovery. It's lots of rest, lots of boredom and lots of watching everyone else do what you can't do. Richie just has to deal with it and keep looking forward to getting back on the field and doing what he loves.
