In all reality the RFL may as well have said to the big teams to not bother wasting their time even submitting an application.
The only teams that need to write more than their names on top of a peice of paper are Cas, Salford, Wakey and Halifax. The others wont even get looked at. The decision as to which teams are in and out will have already been made. cas not having a stadium ready and Wakey going bust just makes it even easier to justify that decision.
The only thing that will be looked at is the three year forecasts for profitability - which will be the decider between cas, wakey, and Halifax. the benefit we have here is that we would have started the detailed applications & analysis months ago, Wakey only 4 weeks ago (quoted by AG) and cas will have previous years accounts to back up their numbers and forecasts. Given Wakey went bust and have no guarentee of even being in a new stadium their forecasts will literally be a finger in the air. The company has no concrete basis to base any assumptions which it puts in its application
