A simple scenario
Take Fax out of the equation , and you have 14 clubs for 13 places , which means an elimination process , very negative
Put Fax in and you have an application process , can be ' spun ' as positive
The RFL were desperate to have clubs applying from the Championship [ otherwise it doesn't look very good if only one club passes the criteria ] to the point where they encouraged Fax to post a 5,000 odd attendance at their last league match by giving away several thousand tickets at a county fair to people whi did not attend
If Barrow failed on the set down criteria , why have the RFL even let them apply ? , it was pointless , but it has allowed them to have a ' competition ' with one club ' winning ' , one club ' eliminated ' , and one club given a second chance
So Fax are just there to give the licence process a bit of credibility , it really is pathetic
So basically people , you are safe as long as you ' beat ' Wakey , if you cant do that given their current situation , then you really dont deserve SL do you ?
