And despite talk of Castleford demanding big money for their star man, the Mail understands the Black and Whites will be able to secure his services for a minimal fee.

Gronk what about this 500k transfer fee you was touting about

But, but, but Gronk said. How can this be?

FCWembley08 who told us this was happening last week has a contact at Cas these lot could only dream of.

What do you reckon Bet? £50k or £60k?

In a nutshell...a brissie LEGEND

Re: Chase IS on : Mon Jul 16, 2012 7:05 am
lets be honest, its quite clear he's leaving cas wether it be fc or another club, unfortunatly for you guys, chase maybe thinks he's bigger than he is and he wants out for reasons probably down to winning things, although at fc, were currently miles off even competeing at the moment...
dint get me wronbg, he looks a top player everytime ive seen him,BUT he seems to be a loose cannon at times,( suspension for alcohol and smashing fev player) but he's the maverick player in which we need.....

Why would this be the case though? Surely this has no substance it makes no sense at all

He has still got 4 years to run on his contract, he is our star player, Castleford are surely in the driving seat regarding the fee.

If he does leave for a minimal fee then our club have got a lot of questions to answer to justify it, i will believe it when i see it.

I have got over the fact he is probably leaving but i will be very dissapointed if we dont recieve a large sum of money for his departure.

Don't be so quick to slam your club, IF they let him go for a minimal fee it just shows how much you need rid, which probably has nothing to do with Cas.

If we need rid for some reason so badly to the point of losing a lot of money over him, surely thats a bad sign for Hull who are taking him on with his recent history, especially as he will join up with his best buddies Mcgoldrick and Westerman.

As the article mentions there is a possibility of him leaving immediately this season (dont think he will), along with the same thing happening with Mcgoldrick, its as though we are ridding ourselves of all of the bad eggs at our club, but hopefully for Hulls sake the problems wont continue over at your team :o

Well he isn't.

No they wont, teams have been told to get lost with higher bids (one paper even suggested it would take 700k!)

You know why the club are sticking a big fee on him? Because they don't want to sell him, the same goes with Daryl Clark.

Just like every year this is Hull fans getting all worked up into thinking they will get Chase - once again the only people talking about it are Hull fans, there's nothing in it like every year.

It will be a halfback McRae has worked with before - Holdsworth or Myler.

Oh dear.

I don't think the reason you need rid is for any disciplinary reason (as much as your lot say it will be once he's signed) but for squad harmony. Chase has engineered this move I'd imagine and we've sweetened the deal by releasing Ellis early for you.
I'd imagine it will be a 6 figure fee but I doubt it would be anywhere near the £350k you reportedly turned down or even half that. £100k - £150k is more likely.

Agree that a fee of anything like a 350k looks to have been scuppered by Chase's 'engineering' but I think you'll have to pay considerably more than you did for Westerman....similar scenario but much better player and longer unexpired contract involved.
