Who would have thought it?

That would be the Wakefield Community Trusts Stadium Plans unless we have by some miracle managed to arrange ownership of Newmarket if it gets past the PI?

Nothing to see here really. As has been said on our forum, it was always known that the Council were guaranteeing the design fees loan. The PI has delayed full planning permission which means the Trust don't have the funds to settle with the bank. If Newmarket goes ahead, the funds will be released and paid back to the Council and the Council will have a multi-million pound sports facility in their borough for next to bugger all.

Let me put you right on a couple of things squire, first of all I am that far up the totem pole I do not have to load my own van, other people do it for me its called delegation and finally I am not sure if you know how it works, but when you are employed they give you what are termed as holidays' I am currently enjoying one of these few luxuries afforded to the working class hth

Chissitt I didn't know that they had internet cafes in Skegness . . . .

Joking aside, what does any of this have to do with "Wheldon Road - Retail Planning Application" :SLEEPY:

As all the other posters have said, this is not news to anyone... at all!

This loan is indeed a draw down on the £2m which Wakefield MDC have offered to BOTH clubs as security going forward as a contribution to both stadium developments. BOTH clubs have, and have always had, the same opportunity to access some of the money in this way. However, for some reason Cas Tigers have not yet set up a correctly structured 'stadium' trust company and have therefore not being able to access it to date. They may have very good reasons for not doing so, but I have always not really understood why Cas didn't take up the same offer and use some of the money?

I think bigalf you need to be careful here... as TRB has said, are you now saying that because you think 'you' might not need your £2m that you opinion has changed? Also, I don't think we have had any 'official' word from the club that they do not need it if the Opus deal comes off... they have said fully funded by Opus but what does that mean?

Throwing stones, glasshouses and all that mate!

Nowt wrong with Skeggy squire, and as you rightly allude to it has nothing to do with Wheldon Road - retail planning application, and as I know absolutely nothing about it I have had the good grace not to comment on it, however please grant me the right of reply to some muppet who insists on making himself look foolish by giving me some slavver on here because I made him look a complete clown on the Wakey board, perhaps you might be better advising him to keep on topic, but I have to warn you that there will be the inevitable delay with his response, thats why we on the Wakey board call him lost in space
