Not according to the cas fans sat behind me who believe he did not deserve his place in team and think he should be on the first plane back to australia - oh and slated him for putting the kick to the corner at beginning of second half saying what the heck has he done that for - was quite funny they went awfully quiet when we scored off the kick!

Tell me about it. Some Cas fans really haven't got a clue. I remember millenium magic last year when i had an argument with two Cas fans over Shifty. They were telling me that Broughy was out playing him (he did rip us to bits that day) and that Sherwin was crap, it was his fault we were losing and everything he had done was garbage. This continued right up until about the 65th minute when someone kindly informed them that Shifty had gone off after about 5 minutes. The idiots didn't even know he had been off the pitch all game.

Shifty was the final piece tonight in our attack and he guided us around the park like a pro. He was targeted by Wigan out wide and we let in some tries but that's what any team will do, attack the small half back out wide.

Sherwin is class! Last season he was at least two plays ahead of the rest of the side... it just needed time for them to learn his game and run the angles.

A great return to the side tonight Shifty... stay fit and we regain the "Classy Cas" tag :D

You should introduce them to Wossname Sandal Wildcat. They'd get on famously, and could even start a "We know f**k all about RL" club. :D

Interesting.

I seem to remember being near enough on my own last season in defending Sherwin when he was single handedly creating all sorts from behind a beaten pack. Few seemed willing to give him a chance working behind the decent pack we now have.

I've said all along that whilst he's not as quick as Brough, he's technically head and shoulders above. He proved that tonight despite not having played a game for 5 months. So what's he going to be capable of once match fit?

So what are our options? Swap a half back for grafter of a second rower just to sure up the defese out wide? Fact is, that's the area coaches target. The weakpoint out wide were the half back is "hiding". No doubt we'll target such as Burrow when we play Leeds, not cos he's crap or anything but because he's the little half back who, let's say, Faumuina can steam role over. It's what happens in RL and all coaches target the lil' half back. The trick for the defending team is not to let that lil' half back get issolated, which we did, we left Shifty with a one on one with such as Karl Pryce running at him.

Anyway, Shifty can let in 3 tries a game so long as he's creating four.
