When will some Cas fans crowd obsession ever end, it's not like you have ended up doing better than us is it.

Finally if there was only 6,500 at BV today then the ground has shrunk, more like 8,000 - why we think it's a good idea to put out the wrong figure I don't know. It may save a bit of VAT but it's crap PR.

A team can announce any attendance they want, but they have to state the correct amount to the Inland Revenue or could face a hefty fine for tax evasion

Oh come on, Vasty, a guess the crowd thread with post match analysis of the figure appears on the Wakey board every time you have an home game.

However important and valid you believe the crowd issue is, it's clearly something that interests/concerns many Wakey fans.

And then moan about when the attendance is announced over the tannoy. I mean, it's not about speccies is it, but still the thread has continued about how the attendances must be fiddled..

There are a number of elements that make a succesfull club of which attendance figures are one. However there importance is greatly exagerated IMHO.

This week was more a simple case of no one believed the figure, and it's not the first time the club have later revised the figure upwards.

Well they've stuck it on the official website as that, so it must be right. It's done on ticket stubs and turnstile clicks so you can't really argue with it. Plus, it's illegal to fiddle the attendance figures.

True enough which makes me wonder why we do it. i must say I bull my club up a lot and by and large they deserve it. However one weakness we have and one think Cas excel at is understanding PR.

As you say you can announce any figure you like so why give the lowest. What I suspect we have done is give the paying attendance. What we have not done is include all the freebies, comps etc - we never do. This may be honest but it's also plain stupid and a real flaw in the way the club projects itself IMHO.

If you could combine Richard Wrights flair for spin and Teds eye for a bargain we's have a great set up - STILL WE'D HAVE TO MERGE FOR THAT - NO!!!
