Well I hope the idiots who threw the bottles can sleep well tonight! They need to start ploughing some money into the club in order to start to repay the debt they have caused. Mind you give it to the middle of next season and they'll be the ones moaning if the team aren't doing well not thinking that if we hadn't got a large fine that we would have more money to spend on players!!!

However I am a realist and these idiots weren't real fans, however it will be left to us the true fans to raise extra funds to help the club out.

I hope that we have some course of appeal as this fine seems extreme though

How is £20k fine lightly? Lightly would have been slap on wrist and £20k suspended fine.

As for security clamping down, how the heck can they stop 100's of bottles getting thrown on the field after the game. Or stop one numpty throwing a flare at richie owen. Even Deren brown wouldnt have been able to predict the intentions of a few idiots.

Unless there is some sort of prior warning (fans getting irate etc) there is very little that can be done to stop the events occurring so surely the important thing is how they deal with things when they do happen.

The stewards should be trained in how to deal with such events, the club should make sure there is adequate stewards who are correctly trained and positioned to deal with the incidents if they happen, or where possible be proactive in trying to prevent incidents.

Hopefully this will make all clubs take such things more seriously as it seems to often on a lot of the boards on here fans are commenting how weak the stewarding is and how poorly they deal with matters when they do occur.

Well done the bloody numptys. The club obviously didn't put too good a case as far as I can see. As previously said I hope all the idiots are proud of themselves. I agree fully with "tropical1" - they'll be the ones booing mid season nnext year and screaming for heads to roll when we can't afford to strengthen the squad.

Another example of being embarrassed to be tarred with the same brush as them.

First off, I hope the idiots are proud of themselves. Cas are trying to pull money together for a new stadium ffs - they don't need this, plus the cost of cctv, increased stewarding, etc.. So thanks you f*cktards. Well done.

Secondly, I do appreciate that Leeds fans did this and Salford fans did that on our ground and under our alleged control, but I hope we're not setting an uncomfortable precedent here. It seems that all fans now have to do to cripple their rivals is to go to the away game in sufficient numbers with the intent of causing trouble. Hey presto it's the rivals fault and the rivals who get a hefty fine. That doesn't sit right with me at all. I think it's a problem for the game to address as a whole, It won't be eradicated by scapegoating one club.

Thirdly, I may be wrong but I've not heard of a single arrest and prosecution as a result of any of these incidents. I simply can't believe that nobody at all knows anything about these so called fans. All I'd say is if you're not shopping them (and doing so officially) then you're complicit.

Should deduct enough points to drop you out of the play offs, that would be a harsher punishment. Might make these "fans" think twice next season.

but they aren't fans, they probably don't care what effect their actions have on the club and as a result I doubt a points deduction would bother them, but it would have a massive negative on the club as a whole and even more so the "proper" fans (who make up the majority of the fanbase) who don't deserve to be punished.
