... I'm sure I heard one of the ITV commentators during the Arsenal v Leeds FA Cup tie refer to one of the LUFC players as "a true Leeds lad from Pontefract" ...
I was born in my mothers house which at that time was sat right on the border of castleford and pontefract, so the dilemma is now am I from cas or pontefract, to help you along a little the rates were paid to castleford borough council, but the post code was Wf8. It then changed when it went to wmdc and the rates are paid to wmdc, also the post code was changed and now it's wf10,I went to school in airedale and went to college in whitwood I then went to uni in derby so please tell me if I'm from cas, point, or even derby eh ........... You are really a waste of seminal fluids aren't you !!
Was there a boundary line running through your house? i doubt it very much. So where is the dilemma you were born in either Cas or Pontefract, there is a couple of clues here and to say you have had a university education imo does not bode well for our education system Firstly your mum assuming she was telling the truth paid her rates to Cas borough council which might lead one to suggest you live in Cas and not ponty, and secondly as you are aware and no doubt happy with the situation you are part of Wakey council which had you lived in Ponty you would not, so unfortunately you are from Cas although I not sure what Derby has got to do with it, and fwiw by the standard of some of your posts I am not totally convinced you have had an education at all and while we are on the subject of Ponty once and for all is Ponty part of Castleford or not because whether you like it or not Tim Bresnan was born in Pontefract not Castleford so stop trying to jump on the bandwagon because he had a good couple of games for England, I doubt it but I hth, thanks for the insults by the way no doubt a product of the Castleford education system

So saying someone who has lived nearly all his life in castleford, went to school there and learnt his trade there is a cas lad, is jumping on a band wagon in your eyes.
Just so as we are clear, because if that is your opinion, your thick as a divers clog.

2 seperate issues here, why the the insult? have I insulted you no i havent so please do not show your lack of good manners and your ignorance by insulting me unless of course you went to school with speedie. Secondly, he is 24 year old or there abouts and has not lived nearly all his life in Cas not yet anyway, if he lives there till he dies then you can say that, just one simple question and just a yes or no will do was he born in Pontefract, and my last point to you if he had got knocked all over the pitch in Melbourne and Sydney and had 2 disastrous games for his country would you be on here with a Tim Bresnan thread i doubt it, and what if that were the case and somebody said what do you expect he's a Cas lad, how many would have said no he's from Ponty, just shows what some lengths some people on here will go to for recognition.
For starters if he'd have had a nightmare game, us cas folk would say it as it is. Luckly for england he didn't so naturally we are bigging him up.....something wrong in that.
My 2 daughters where born in pontefract materity hospital, you ask them where they are from, they sure wont say pontefract. If they had been born on the top deck of a double decker bus, you expect them to be from ''the top deck of a double decker bus'' your arguement is laughable.
Tbh i didn't realise wakefield fans were bitter even over our cricketers. GO BRESNAN.

No-one had ever denied that he was born in Pontefract.
Well what is your point then?

However, may I remind you of what you said when you joined the discussion: What you didn't say was So what you're saying is,
Is this a trick question?

in effect, that Colin Cowdrey talked like someone from India (because that's where he was born despite being raised elsewhere), Derek Pringle talks like someone from Nairobi (ditto) and Michael Vaughan talks like a Mancunian (ditto). Or are you now changing the subject to imply that you never meant this? Or indeed are you trying to cover up the fact that you didn't really know where Tim Bresnan was brought up?[/quote
I have never mentioned Cowdrey or Pringle or Vaughan so how can I change the subject and imply that I never meant this, and as for covering up the fact where Bresnan was brought up, it is not the issue and never has been, read my post where I said he came from Ponty not Cas that is the issue, but for some reason you want to cloud it by saying he comes from Cas which in effect means he never left there in the first place.

could ever be remotely regarded as an attempt at a geography lesson. Especially with the at the end. Deary me, we are getting uptight, aren't we. Maybe you should have a nice lie down.
I'm not getting uptight at all I merely offered to defuse your embarassment at your alleged attempt at humour with the Wakey in Barnsley quip even the pathetic attempt to ridicule me by implying that it was a hilarious joke that somehow went over my head with it being too subtle for my intelligence, so I'm going to take your advice and go and have a lie down your too much hard work
For starters if he'd have had a nightmare game, us cas folk would say it as it is. Yush mate, course you would :LIAR:

No not at all, appreciate your honesty unlike in the first part of your post. I can't wait for somebody to come on and say his mam comes in our shop, or his auntie used to live on't next street

Well no not really, tbh I would not expect them to have been born on the top of a double decker bus or a single for that matter unless of course you are new age travellers, then I suppose it could be expected, after all this is what the NHS is for amongst other things, when they grow up though I would expect them to say I was born in Pontefract General hospital and have until now spent my life residing in Castleford. The sad thing about all this is its not me what is laughable but the length some of you will go to on here to be associated with Tim Bresnan up until 2 week ago nobody gave a toss
Tbh i didn't realise wakefield fans were bitter even over our crickets. GO BRESNAN.
Yer go Bresnan go don't embarass yourself even more by deflecting your pathetic arguement into rugby matters
Ahhh bitterness, sure brings the best out of people.
Sure does. I just love the way that when you celebrate the success of one of your own, there are always sad, twisted people with nothing to celebrate who try to bereave you of your fun and joy, making themselves look idiotic into the bargain.
Awwwwww diddums.
